The news came ahead of the official announcement which is most likely due today during the Super Smash Bros themed Nintendo Direct. Well, we now have footage of the newly added characters in action so take a look at the fast and frantic video above featuring Lucas, Ryu and Roy.

Thanks, I’m A Boss

  1. Reality is Dolphin Revolutionized Cafe NX

All these Smash leaks? *sigh* i wish they would leak/reveal Diddy Kong Racing DLC pack for MK8….or better yet DKR2.

    1. I know, right? That is possibly Nintendo’s best game that is ignored by their staff. Unless they will be revealing it for Virtual Console at E3 in which case I will love Nintendo and donate about maybe $20 so they could afford a new intern for about 3 seconds or something like that.

  2. Nice! Love the stage design and excited for Ryu. Wish they weren’t leaked but that’s not going to stop me from getting them.

  3. Yeah!!! i.,m happy dream dreams is going to return in the game i also hope fountain of dreams will also be available :D :D

    1. They seem to be finished, so it’s safe to assume they’ll be released soon. Otherwise, why would Nintendo add them in Lucas’ patch? There’s nothing confirmed, though.

      1. They must be coming in a few weeks, I bet a month and a half at the most of debugging the models and the attacks. Remember the Custom Mewtwo glitch when he was released?

  4. I’m surprised that Boss isn’t even here yet. At least Roy still looks the same. Maybe he will become my main again. Anyway, when do you think that Ryu and Roy are coming? I think it looks like a few weeks for bug testing, but they seem finished, unlike what happened with Mewtwo.

    1. Well, they’re included in the patch that will bring us Lucas, and the person who did the datamine and yanked the patch from their servers is also pretty certain it’s all ready to go too. So, it’s actually probably all meant to launch tomorrow, as a bit of a fun E3 surprise.

    1. That caught my attention as well. No, there’s no other character that has that feature. I guess they did it because of the way super arts work in SFIV. It’s a nice touch.

      1. well people vote on those characters to be in smash bros but hey sakurai will give them what they want.

    2. every character only has one. I thought it was weird too, because i use to play brawl hack and that was the only time I had 2 smashes for some new PSA characters

    3. No the hadoken that drags the enemy through it is a super combo and the flaming shoryuken is an ultra combo. My guess is that Ryu has a meter similar to Little Mac that will give him his super combo hadoken or maybe it will build over time like Wario’s fart.

    1. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

“I won’t be adding playable characters for Smash 5 because I don’t want them all leaked on the internet again.” lol Just making fun of Sakurai’s “reason” for not adding a story mode to Smash 4.

  5. i dont mind having ryu in smash bros but sakurai said he dont allow fighters from other fighting games because he said he cant add them in smash because there in other fighting games i guess sakurai is feeling disappointed about this.

    1. He said that because people wouldn’t stop asking for Tekken characters when we heard Namco is helping. He can always change his mind and he did technically break that promise already with Little Mac

    2. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Sakurai is a known liar to anyone that has listened to him for years while making these Smash games. He always backtracks on at least something he said when working on the previous installment. So expect to see Ridley in Smash one day if & when Sakurai once again backtracks on his statement about this being the last smash game, just like Brawl was supposed to be his “last” game in the franchise, & works on Smash 5 for the NX.

  6. A Nintendo Direct based on a game that’s already been out for over 7 or 8 months is a boring Direct.

  7. Did anyone else notice how Ryu’s hurricane kick has a short and a long version? My guess is you can hold down his side B to extend it further.
