Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water (Wii U) Confirmed For North America

Rumors have been circulating that Fatal Frame would be getting a North American localization; following Nintendo’s Digital Event @ E3, the Big N confirmed that speculation.

Coming in Fall 2015, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will follow three people with the power of the Camera Obscura (the ability to see the shadows of the dead) as they try to uncover the mysterious suicides happening in the woods.

In order to use the camera, players will use the Wii U Gamepad as the Camera Obscura. Check out the screenshots below:

    1. 1. Yeah I’m In shock too lol I stayed up for this shit
      2. I will be getting a few games but that direct was so bad ugh I’m angry

I’m buying a PS4. Those are words I never thought I would say… ever. I am a die hard Nintendo fan (used to be), but this direct killed me. Broke my heart, in a way. But, I’m just so angry that I can’t deal with it anymore.

I am about to venture off into other uncharted gaming territory. The closest I have ever gotten to playing on a 3rd party system is when I got into Soul Caliber IV and V as well as Bayonetta on my brother’s Xbox 360. Those are the ONLY games I have ever played on another platform aside from a Nintendo platform. I have never played CoD, or Assassin’s Creed or Halo or Final Fantasy or any of those games that are being found on PS4 and Xbox One.

I will be now. Nintendo lost a fan today :,(

        1. Go multi-platform. You can be a nintendo fan and play other games :) Some of my favorite games this year have been on Xbox (Ori and the Blind Forest, first and foremost). Don’t give up on Nintendo just because there are bluer waters

          1. ^This. Ive waited too long to expand my horizons, but PS4 seems like a solid system with alot of exclusive content. They “Get It” and are actually listening to the gamers. I feel like Nintendo is sitting stubbornly in their chair with their legs crossed and fingers in their ears screaming “lalalalalalalalala” and ignoring what gamers and nintendo fans want. Online/ voice chat, multiplayer, specific IP’s brought back, new games/IP (Splatoon is AWESOME though, just launched incomplete but online multiplayer atleast is a bridge to them releasing the updates)
I just wish you didnt need PSN for online, but even that is a minor inconvenience anymore.

  1. At least this looks good…but why you no include in E3 presentation Nintendo? Swear this company is kind of backwards at times.

  2. Sure…but no gameplay was revealed to confirm it. This would’ve at least brought a smile to all the tears that were streaming down my face when METROID was announced :(

  3. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

    >>>Fast Racing Neo, Devil’s Third, Fatal Frame, Fire Emblem Fates and whatever Retro is working on, but instead they show none of these but rather shows Animal Crossing crap nobody wants>>>

    1. Reality is Dolphin Revolutionized Cafe NX

Yeah! They should had included Fast Racing Neo with release date on the Digital Event, i mean theres their “F-Zero for WiiU” since Nintendo themselfs are too lazy to make one. Also the lack of Retro pisses so much, i mean was it Retro or Nintendo that promised them to be present at E3? Darn, im sure i readed somewhere that Retro is at E3 this year! I got so hyped at the part where Iwata had bananas, i was like,”OMG DKR2 is happening, rumours were true!” Then they showed something completely lame. And seriously they were promoting some Anime kinda game with J-Pop song playing background? At E3 where people expect hmm whats the word? oy yeah i know, epicness!

      1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

        >>>There is a chance that they show 1-2 new games at the floor but that’s a small chance>>>

  4. This was the problem with the Digital Event we should have seen this there. It felt like 10 mins were spent on developer interviews. Triple that from Yoshi’s Wholly World to the end of that Mario montage

  5. Every E3, every time I think I’ve seen everything there is to see, I start seeing and hearing about other games later on (like this). It always leaves me wondering, WHY WAS THIS NOT ON THE DIRECT/DIGITAL EVENT?

    1. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Because apparently Nintendo likes watching 3rd party games flop on their consoles. Just like they let Wonderful 101 & Bayonetta flop about like a dying fish out of water.

  7. is this the same Fatal Frame that was announced a long time ago? If so….yeahh, we (in North America) already had this confirmed that it was going to be brought over here during a past Nintendo Direct…

  8. It’s a trailer for America! But yeah this was already confirmed, but they still should have put it in the Direct.

  9. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

This & Devil’s Third REALLY should have been in the Nintendo Digital Event. Nintendo totally dropped the ball. I guess Nintendo likes watching 3rd party games struggle on their consoles. Hell! Even ones they themselves were paying for got shafted in the end. *cough*Bayonetta2*cough*
