The new Legend of Zelda game, Tri Force Heroes, allows you to play multiplayer either locally or online, but if you were hoping for voice chat whilst playing online then you’re going to be disappointed. During the latest Nintendo Treehouse segement at E3, they confirmed that the game won’t be supporting voice chat. Do you think this will effect the game massively at all?
Thanks, MasterPikachu6
I’M SHOCKED said no one lol
Not shocked, still disappointed (hard enough playing portal with voice chat)
sorry to hear lol
I’m sorry, but how do you play a multiplayer PUZZLE video game without voice chat? Isn’t there a need to discuss and figure out and plan what each person has to do?
talk to nintendo, i have no connection to them unfortunately lol
If this is not important in a fucking high speed puzzle game, I don’t know where it is. What when you understand what you have to do and the other two people don’t? Do you just go around making different emoticons and hope they get it??? What? I really feel like Nintendo is being retarded on purpose. They cannot seriously be this stupid for this long.
Yep, im wondering will they even have somesort of Chat box like in MH games, its the least that should be there imo.
I don’t think Splatoon needed VC, but this game certainly does if played online.
I am shocked!
Look at Link in a cat costume, and there is NO porn of that yet…
Internet… i am disappoint…
Not surprising, it’s Nintendo after all. Personally I thought the emoticons they have instead were cute enough. I don’t think it’ll make too much of a difference. Hopefully, at least
Who cares, it’s not like it’d be useful, especially with the emoticon system.
Are you serious? This is a game heavily based on precise teamwork and cooperation, communication is important. Do you know how frustrating it can be when a team mate doesn’t seem to know what they’re supposed to do, or keep doing things wrong and you can’t assist them by telling what they should do? Happened to me a couple of times in other games, even in the original Four Swords, which I’ve played with friends in the same room, there were times someone kept doing something wrong; situations like that are proof for voice chat being very important in games like this. Emoticons are, obviously, not a sufficient compensation for the lack of an actual voice chat feature.
Oh yay another voice chat argument lol
Yea… Here we go again, haha. I wish you good luck, and when times get rough, remember: you’re not alone on your journey of criticizing the lack of voice chat, lmao.
Yay Skype never existed.
Oh, you’re so right, Skyping with people you’re randomly getting matched up with is definitely a thing. Sorry, my bad, plz forgive.
Its not with random people, its with your friends
Wait, the game only features online multiplayer with friends? So to be able to fully enjoy the game, at least 3 of my friends need to own the game? That doesn’t really make the situation any better, but rather worse, lmao.
Actually 2 other friends need the game. There is single player, 2 players, and 3 players.
My bad, mixed it up with Four Swords. And honestly, I don’t expect the singleplayer to be too in-depth because the focus obviously seems to be on multiplayer, so I still need my friends to own the game to get the full experience, which is an absolute shame in this day and age. But at least you can set up Skype with them, as you’ve said, lmao. Definitely no compensation for lack of voice chat and random matchmaking, though.
Wait, so it’s friends only online? Ehhh… that’s definitely worse than no voice chat.
And was never relevant especially since it was exposed to be part of NSA’s illegal spy games too.
Thank you lol that always helps knowing I’m not alone and crazy
I’m seriously staying out of this this time. -_- I’m too weak from that direct to even argue anymore.
Yea lol I actually did myself that was the only comment I think I made in that section I’m proud of myself lol.
I broke as soon as I scrolled down XD I couldn’t make it 10 seconds lmao.
Hahaha it’s tough I know you see one comment that gets you and it’s ON!!
I know right! Back to square one with some of these fucking imbeciles!
Haha it will never end. The fact there are people defending E3 tells us there will always be people defending any decision made by nintendo.
With all the bad news surrounding Nintendo this is both not surprising and will only add fuel to the fire.
Then send a message by not buying the game.
I am not buying Federation Force and I’m not downloading Animal Crossing Party U. *I’m definitely sending Nintendo a message regarding those games.* I will buy Star Fox, Paper Mario Paper Jam and the new 3DS Zelda game though, because I don’t mind supporting these games.
I’m not really even a huge supporter of voice chat anyway, I just know other people advocate for it all the time and consider it a mandatory function of online multiplayer games.
Will you buy super mario maker? I will.
Dumbass Nintendo devs don’t know how to code voice chat
Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros For Wii U say hi.
And they can say “bye” because they’re goddamn terrible.
2010’s Pokemon Black and White say hello.
God… that was scary. I traded with someone once and they wanted to talk. I quickly closed my 3DS.
For me it was an… interesting experience.
Those are actually the best games this generation.
Doesn’t matter if it was good or bad, he said that Nintendo doesn’t KNOW how to even code voicechat, I gave 2 examples of Nintendo coding voicechat, it’s as simple as that.
Its not fully implemented and their excuse is laughable. Activision managed to do it with their CoD Games on Wii U but somehow Nintendo “won’t.”
Moron before .matches aww so much fun
Chat that’s only in friends lobby for 20 second. A bigger fail than not adding chat to those games at all.
Ehhhh yeah it will hurt the game. As cute as the emoticons are, don’t expect actual cooperation if you can’t talk eh.
It’s 2015… everyone who is playing games online is using Skype or TeamSpeak so … who cares?
You Think randoms that play online is gonna set up skype or a teamspeak? Get real
Its not random people online. Its with your friends.
Actually both Sony and MS have phenomenal Voice Chat features in their games, the don’t need to use Skype to play an online game. Nintendo Gamers on the other hand, they’re forced to use a 3rd party app to chat.
And WTF is Teamspeak and who honestly still uses that battery vampire of an NSA spied chat service “Skype”
NX will flop because Nintendo never learns. Fuck Nintendo.
NX will need a strong launch line up, plenty of 1st, 2nd AND 3rd Party support, key franchises that Nintendo fans love, a competitive price point and lots of advertising in order to succeed properly. If they don’t do these things, then the NX will either be a tiny success, or a not successful at all. Nintendo don’t need these things to stay alive as a company, they need these things to bring back the faith in 3rd Parties and most importantly, potential buyers of the system. 3DS is a prime example this generation. The things that turned it around from a failure to a success story, was loads of great exclusive titles (A Link Between Worlds, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, etc) A competitive price (I’m sure they dropped the price,) loads of advertising and key franchises(3D Mario, 2D Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem.) Nintendo needs to learn from the 3DS’s main 1 and a half years of dominance (mid 2012-end of 2013) (It is still dominating to this day, just not as much as that 1 and a half year timespan, but it is still going really strong.)And use that knowledge in planning out how to handle the NX. The NX will have potential to sell Wii numbers, if Nintendo does everything right.
They are the reasons you can still play games today.
Your point?
missing 3ds games on e3 page?
are twilight princess and supermariosunshine remakes?
I get that it’s Nintendo and they’re allergic to voice chat, but this is truthfully a mistake. I’ve been playing the Gamecube Four Swords game with my brother the last couple weeks and communication is essential to solving some of the puzzles. If we couldn’t talk to each other, we’d probably still be on level 1. Can you design a game that’s easy enough that you don’t have to coordinate with your teammates? Absolutely. Would that be kind of lame? Yeah.
Its only with friends so you can use Skype.
There are a bunch of prissy babies out there to nuking they know what’s best. Didn’t get what you want? Predicting Nintendo’s suicide via lack of voice chat?? Everybody will still buy it so take a seat ¬_¬
And in other news, the sun came up today…
missing game supermariosunshine 3D
My god, how the flying fuck cares. It’s like the website is deliberately trying to bring the haters into the comment section, geez…
>>>Sickr needs to give me my weekly doses of victims>>>
I hope I have voice chat.
Lol I hope you do too. Blind haters can stfu
I hope you die on your first day of launching your shitty ass anti-Metroid Prime game faster and harder than Virtual Boy, Wii Music and Wii U combined.
MISSING GAME SUNSHINE REMAKE
Can the 3ds handle voice chat, i don’t recall many games that have, i know pokemon has it, but that is true voice chat. Does monster hunter have it?
AFFECT* the game.
Shocker
TheBitBlock Tweeted that Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival Will Be Free But there will be a retail release that comes with cards and A Amiibo
>>>What is Voice Chat? Is it a tool to anger and please people at the same time?>>>
A Feature many games do not have and people are fine with until it is mentioned THis Article is My Point
It’s too hectic a game for voice chat to be of much use at all. But then again, that can be said for a lot of games. why anyone would bemoan the lack of an aural portal to hell itself is beyond me.
The company is a joke done
Why when Nintendo games don’t have voice chat, people outrage but if its a non Nintendo game, people are ok?
It’s the other way around with the stupid ass hypocrite Nintendo fans.
How are we stupid for liking nintecave. We all like different types of games. You on the other hand, are dumb. Go back to your Xbox cave.
How are we stupid for liking nintendo. Sorry, android auto correct.
Rip everyone without friends.
The game is meant to be played with people in the same room.
Without friends you can still play but will swap between the 3 characters.
You could actually also play with friends online.
People act like skype doesn’t exist. Remember you can only play online with friends.
And people still act like it’s relevant. I don’t even give a shit about it.
I didn’t realize 3ds had skype
Oh great, so when you are stuck on a puzzle and you can’t figure out what to do you can’t coordinate with your team mates.
You only play with friends.
While I do agree Splatoon doesn’t need voice chat, I do agree that a game like this with puzzles and more cooperation, voice chat is needed.
Who wants voice chat with the crappy 3ds mic? all youll hear is people screaming and static.
ahhhhh gosh i was already expecting this to happen. glad i can careless of the 3ds.
Nintendo needs to crawl out of the 90s and support their games with expected features. Seriously, it’s getting old.
A game like this needs communication IMO. May as well not have online play.
I just played a demo of this at Best Buy with two other people. Even WITH voice chat, this was tricky. We even needed to point on-screen to where one of the other guys needed to walk to progress. Without communication, this will be shit.
This game looks like such a joke atm. Link in a leopard print suit?! lol.
Not even voice chat for merely three fucking friends?! *facepalms*….
No voice chat again, not even for merely three fucking friends?! *triple facepalm*….
Voice chat is one feature that I will never (as long as I live) understand why anybody wants. Even when they explain it to me, I still think it’s a stupid and unnecessary feature. And I always laugh when people complain about a game not having voice chat. For me, that’s like hearing that the game won’t feature real people. Like……WHO CARES?
Not this shit again XD
Why does Nintendo refuse to even give a voice chat option?
The emoticon system is enough for me, I don’t even knwo why people argues over this especially when you know the 3DS mic is terrible ._.’
Not surprised but I’m glad it has short-commands in the use of those emoticons. Still, I bet there will be those online who doesn’t GET those short-commands… ugh…
Pingback: Nintendo Said They Considered Voice Chat For The Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes | My Nintendo News
Great. Splatoon, I can partly understand why voice chat wasn’t a big issue for Nintendo even though it still should have been, but this game!? There is nothing worse than playing an online game that definitely requires strategizing with your teammates & having no way to even actually strategize. Unless this game has the ability for us to at least text speak with our teammates, this is very bad. But why am I not surprised! There are still fucking idiots defending the “no voice chat” stance! Don’t bother even typing your shit defenses to me! I’m not in the fucking mood for it! Fuck you, fuck Nintendo, & fuck all of yours & theirs excuses! It’s bullshit! All bullshit! Please, don’t waste your time! Just go back to riding Nintendo’s dick silently & kindly FUCK OFF!!
In the words of Mick Foley/Mankind, have a nice day!
