Super Mario Maker Won’t Have YouTube Uploading Like Mario Kart 8

The ability to upload replay videos of Mario Kart 8 directly to YouTube is a pretty nifty feature that provides quite a lot of fun, especially in the form of Luigi death stares. The success of the feature caused Nintendo to extend it to other games like Super Smash Bros., but apparently it won’t be included in the new Super Mario Maker. It might be pretty cool to be able to share videos of the levels you’ve created, but producer of the game, Takashi Tezuka, said they’d rather players play the levels and experience them rather than just watching, which you’re able to do in a sharing feature between friends. Do you think they’ve missed a trick, or is it not that big a deal?

We thought about having YouTube uploading, but it’s not in our game. The reason for that is other than just watching movies of courses, we’d rather players play them and experience them in that way. — Takashi Tezuka

    1. Nobody even gave a crap about the mktv feature after like 5 days PostLaunch. There were too many uploads to care about and took too much time for the public to view and took too long for the player to post. The same thing would happen with MMAKER if it had the feature.

      1. That’s only because the Mario Kart 8 replay length and viewing perspective is ass. If it was third person and records/sends an entire race play, then it would be a mostly used feature. Imagine if Smash Bros. had YouTube uploading. It would be an awesome perk too and one of the most popular video game uploads in the site. But of course, Nintendo is getting overprotective with their IPs so much that it’s like they’re mentally 5 years old and gets smitten with something so closely try refuse to share and fear what would happen to it in someone else’s hands.

      2. No they didn’t. Even though they updated the replay upload, it’s only for the in-game viewing, not for YouTube. Now they wanna say they stop because MK8’s feature was unpopular and I’ll explain why: They idiotically only let you upload up to 60 seconds instead of the entire racing session and its camera point of view for such uploads is stupid and doesn’t show everything happening.

      1. Even with the feature enabled, said videos would be outnumbered 73 to one by cat videos, dumb let’s play loudmouths, and Let It Go covers.

    1. It was dog shit.

We got Shitty casual game disguised as Metroid.

We got casual Zelda where Link has Zelda´s dress, as if the game wasnt joke already.

And no F-ZeroU because they cannot come with ridicilous stuff like having amiibos to unlock tracks and C.Falcon wearing dress and make up with soccer minigames.

      1. No shit! Chasing them into mobiles, turning Metroid and Zelda into whores for casuals with Link wearing a fucking dress in a party game and Metroid with its shitty soccer minigames and bs chibi style.

      2. Im not saying WiiU is a waste of money, it has good games rather im trying to say Nintendo is screwing their fans with not living up to for WiiU´s potential by chasing casuals into mobiles, wasting money on shitty excuse of a game with Metroid slapped onto it instead of making real Prime4 for WiiU and telling fans basically how all their focus is on NX now.

Like where are the fucking awesome unannounced games for WiiU that we dont know yet? The only unannounced we got at E3 was a fucking AC amiibo board shitty game.

      3. Where are the unannounced games coming for Wii U? They’re coming next year, of course. This years E3 was for 2015 games only. Yes, it was disappointing, but I have no doubt it would have been better if they hadn’t restricted themselves and shown games from next year as well.

Also, they’ve given absolutely zero indication that their focus is on NX now so I have no idea where you got that from. They only announced the NX was in development as a way to assure people they weren’t converting to mobile.

      4. No Metroid for WiiU, instead they would rather develop one for NX, Zelda delayed probably in favor of dual release with NX. Theres plenty of signs indicating NX is coming sooner than people expect, fuck this is the same company that promised that they wont never release mobile games and look what happened! Same company that said online isnt fun or future, company that said that vr is not. Who the fuck knows what stupid shit they are gonna pull out next?

      5. you only wasted money on it if you didn’t buy any games for it, Nintendo will be releasing the NX because the wiiu isn’t selling well and they can’t support the system by themselves, they need 3rd party support, them being the only ones developing for the system is just causing rushed games, the wiiu is hurting the company and it’s games in more ways than you think, also by the time the NX comes out the wiiu would had a full console life

      1. Does that mean that if you make a level with an Amiibo mushroom, anyone who plays it will be able to use that character, even if they don’t own that Amiibo? That would be pretty awesome.

      2. Exactly, If I make a map and use the Marth amiibo and release my map to the world, anyone can jump in and still use the Marth because I put it in, so you don’t need to own any amiibo to use it, you just have to hope the player who made the map owns amiibo

  1. Ugh. These stupid mother fuckers are the most idiotic bitches ever. I’m not just talking about this game but all of them. How fucking hard is it just implant a decent fucking online system in just one of your fucking games?

That lost potential for hyrule warriors. Online co-op or just a online battle system. Smash should have a ranking system. Splatoon…. ugh don’t get me started on that shit. I think it’s miyamoto fucking shit up. Oh I’m sorry broski but you have to get with the fucking times. That “oh well we at Nintendo think that the pleasure of playing with is a family is a much better experience than playing with a stranger across the globe.” Bullshit.

These fucks just don’t know how disconnected a family can be. Not every fucking family is that candy sweet heart family that gets alone. If I was at Nintendo I would smack every single last one of those dumb fucks. Woke up! This is not the fucking Famicom days.

Fuck up with NX and your ass is fucking dead Nintendo. You have one last fucking chance to redeem your self fucking worthy. Slap that bitch miyamoto and tell him “This ain’t fucking Burger King. You can’t always have it your fucking way!”

    1. What’s wrong with the online in Splatoon? I’ve had zero issues with it.

Also, they could fuck up the next three consoles and still be doing fine. Do you have any idea how much money they have? They have plenty of trial and error time.

      1. Let me see. It laggy and paint doesn’t fucking get shown when someone disconnects. No voice chat. You have to fucking leave the lobby to change your weapons each time.

It ain’t about money, it’s about loyalty of the Damn customers. You want to getting fucker over three consoles straight than that’s your dumbass. Blinded by fanboyism will only ruin the company.

  2. i mean, im fine with this because i bought an elgato. and even if this did have youtube upload support, it wouldnt quite capture the rage i experience when playing super hard levels.

  3. I think that People who want to share amazing content will still upload to youtube via other devices (myself included) will continue to do that, but I appreciate that the aim is to get as many as possible to actually play the levels, in this day and age though, the little big planet style does not work all that well any more and I worry for the longevity of this game.

  4. Does it really need Youtube sharing? Isn’t it about playing others people’s levels? Not watching them. As long as they have a really easy way to share other creations between game owners, I think that would be best.

  5. Maybe people can get a petition together and demand that the game gets cancelled unless the you tube feature is added.
