Xenoblade Chronicles X Was Top Of The Japanese Digital Downloads In May

Xenoblade Chronicles X may have not made too much of a dent in the Media Create retail charts, but according to Weekly Famitsu it is doing rather well in the digital download charts. Monolith Soft’s latest JRPG managed to top the Japanese digital download charts last month, beating the likes of Minecraft and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Here’s the most downloaded titles in Japan during last month.

  2. Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition (PS3): 14,750 -100%
  3. Bravely Second: End Layer (3DS) : 14,532 – 9.1%
  4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4): 11,350 – 14.4%
  5. Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition (PS Vita): 10,938 – 14.8%

  1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

    >>>I guess that explains the lack of sales in the normal charts in our homeworld>>>

      1. Yeah, I know it’s digital. If it was a week it would be pretty good for digital. I’d even give them kudos on two weeks. But for a month?

Things really are slowing down in Japan (assuming numbers here are accurate).

    1. It looks very different with the physical sales, (this site blocked my last reply, but Nintendo Everything has the whole numbers).

  2. Fan boys this generation only care for cod Minecraft GTA they dont want to try something different or new losers

    1. this game is basically a sequel to xenoblade, how is this different, and its a jrpg, way to use an over used genre, why not make a new genre up.

  3. At least Xenoblade Chronicles X is the #1 digital download in Japan. When it launches on December 4th, this game would be a digital download seller at the eShop in North America.

  4. Ouch, the Japanese gaming industry is looking pretty doomed. The retail charts are really depressing as well.
At least the King Full of Vita rightfully reigns over there…

          1. Microsoft deserves but every praise for it. Xbox 1 was a bomb in Japan, Xbox 360 was a bomb in Japan but they didn’t even dare to abandon their 200 Japanese fans. That’s what I call dedication.

Unlike Nintendo who always forgets us westerners.

            1. Yeah I have to agree. Such non-existent profit margins for Microsoft in Japan, and yet they still continue to even bother. Honestly, I like Microsoft a lot, and this sort of thing is the reason why. I’ve never felt betrayed, except when they announced all that crap last E3; but then they totally rectified it. They didn’t pull no bullshit “please understand” stunt- they fixed it. Yet while Microsoft is hailed as Satan, Nintendo is this world’s holy lord and savior. Just like how Call of Duty (don’t get me wrong, I don’t like call of duty) is hailed as the biggest piece of crap to ever exist, while Splatoon, with like half the amount features (and I’m not talking about voice chat- I couldn’t care less about that), is considered to be a fantastic AAA game. Honestly I can’t figure that out. From what I’ve played, it’s not like Splatoon is any more fun than your typical FPS. I realize I sound like a Microsoft fanboy ranting on a Nintendo website, but I don’t even own an Xbox one- I own a Wii U and 3DS, and I enjoy them thoroughly. I just feel betrayed very, very often as a fan of Nintendo, is all, and I respect Microsoft enough to defend them from blind haters.

                1. Apologies for ranting about Nintendo on a Nintendo website, but now and then everybody’s tipped over the edge when their love and dedication toward a company is endlessly unrewarded.

              1. to be honest, Splatoon is a brand new IP that brought fresh new ideas to an existing genre, totally the opposite of Call of Duty, which latest innovations were Kevin Bacon, dogs and Press F/X to pay respects.

Look at Sony. They tried to exactly copy the kinds of Halo and CoD and brought two mediocre franchises into existence: Killzone and Resistance. None came close to touch Halo and CoD because they did the same thing as those two. And there was MAG too, but it’s not like anyone cared.

Nintendo deserves all praise for Splatoon. Whether the lack of voice chat or the timed free DLC wall (tbqh… it’s better than Capcom who obliged you to pay for on-disc content) put you off, they did a goddamn nice job with Splatoon.
