Renegade Kid is notorious for drumming up good will with their fan base, and the drumline is never ending: Xeodrifter was confirmed as “crossbuy” by the studio head. What is crossbuy? While Nintendo may be new on the scene, the principle is that if you own the game already for Nintendo 3DS, you will be able to download it for free when it comes to Wii U.

This is not necessarily a brand new concept for Nintendo — we have seen it before with OlliOll. Either way, this is a boon for the consumer. Xeodrifter released on Nintendo 3DS last December, as was confirmed for eventual release on Wii U. The 8-bit inspired games seems remarkably like the 2D Metroid/Mega Man many people have been hoping for. Check out the trailer below:
