Japan: Nintendo 3DS Sells 32K And Wii U Sells 13K

This week’s Japanese video game sales charts are now in thanks to Media Create. Unsurprisingly, the latest entry in the Fire Emblem franchise has claimed the number one position, with Fire Emblem Fates: Black Kingdom proving to be the most popular of the two games. 1. It’s funny because I play my Wii U way more than my 3DS. The only reason I’m playing it at all is because I’m super hyped for Mario and Luigi paper jam so I’m playing dream team and bowsers inside story. I’m rocking at Splatoon though!

  1. Now Nintendo, release virtual console games on the WiiU with advertising, all is well.

    F=ma.

    1. I think people are over the bullshit that happened until some new batch crap news rolls into town.

  2. Microsoft should leave japan at all, 200 xbox1 per week in a whole country?, they are lossing money just paying the warehouse rent, we all know japanese people dont give a shit about xbox

  3. Thanks for some other informative site. Where else may just I am getting that kind of information written in such a perfect way? I have a project that I’m simply now working on, and I have been at the glance out for such info.

  4. The Fire Emblem: Fates sales actually look great, but I can’t tell if this is an improvement to Awakening’s launch sales or not.

    1. Ehh… It’s about the same. Awakening only sold 500k in Japan. So Fates may do a little better, since it’s already close to 300k in the first week.

      I just hope it does good in the States. Awakening sold about 700k so I hope it sells more than that at least…

      1. No, FF14 is predominantly a PC game. This chart only shows console sales. And plus it sold over 40k on consoles… So it’s not doing horrible. Plus it’s not a mainline game, it’s a MMO….

    1. It’s an mmo. It’s still 15 or 20 bucks a month to play on top of the expansion cost. With its estimated 4 million users( most of which in NA) they’re making bank on that game. Japan has like 4 or 6 dedicated servers for Ffxiv compared to NAs like 15 or 20. And Europe has 4 or 6 as well.

    Cool to see the Wii U has picked up over in Japan a bit. It used to sell 8k each week, but it’s been holding out at 12-13k, so far, week after week since Splatoon launched.
