Liam Robertson from Unseen64 has spoken to a source over at Nintendo of America who has informed him that they won’t be publishing Devil’s Third in North America. The reason given behind this decision is that the game simply isn’t up to scratch and they don’t think it will sell enough to warrant a release. That being said, there is always the possibility that another publisher decides to pick the game up and release it in North America.

Actually Pikmin 3 is THE BEST game on Wii U if you’re going by quality. The depth in the 2 player battle and action mode are unmatched by leagues compared to any Wii U game. PS4 and XBONE for that matter.

If you watch the video, you will learn that in its current state Devil’s Third has inconsistent frame rates, less than sub par graphics, and simply does not play well. Play testers from Japan and Europe say the same thing, unfortunately.

WiiU has tons of games, but not for me. All the great games I play on WiiU were Launch-Window games, and games Nintendo didn’t develop. So I’m pretty pissed at Nintendo for No Metroid, No Zelda. Miiverse is nice, but Swapnote was it’s own neat little thing. Collecting new note backgrounds by talking to people around the world was pretty damn fun, and it was a shame to see it depart from NA.

Nintendo are basically supporting two systems on their own, they’ve struggled with resources after 3rd parties decided to bail out on.them, the Wii U has an excellent and pretty diverse library, especially when compared to the sea of shooters, casual sports and sandbox games that dominate the playstation and Xbox

No, just no. The PS1 had a ton of quality games. It also had a lot of wacky/creative game ideas that haven’t existed since then! Sure the 2 Zeldas on N64 may top anything on PS1, but that’s where it stops. Sure the games may not ‘look’ as good today as N64 titles but graphics =/= quality.
Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Castlevania, Street Fighter, Tekken, Tomb Raider, Gran Turismo, Driver, Legacy of Kain, Mega Man Legends, Mega Man X, Suikoden, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve, and pretty much every game made by Square. Nintendo 64 basically had the few first party games and Rareware. Rare saved their ass during that generation! They put out more quality games than the big N did!!
In my opinion, the SNES and the original Playstation have the best libraries of games ever. They both have such a diverse and unique catalog. You could easily live off those two systems for the rest of your life.

I could keep goiong but Your Playstation list doesn’t come close to most of those titles and that’s without Zelda.
The N64 also had the best console version of Doom and even the best Wrestling Games (AKI),.
I liked the PS1, as I said, I owned both systems, but in terms of quality of gameplay, innovation and genre diffining games, N64 hands down for me.

They can’t come out and say we have no control its Japan’s fault. They’d be out of a job! They have no choice but to “damage control” (I like this new word) and “spin” as such to make it seem like it’s intentional.
It’s the only thing that makes sense. I would hate to believe NOA is this stupid. There are NO games!! Anything and everything is welcomed at this point.

We in the States are still unhappy with only getting the New 3DS XL here when there IS a market for the standard sized model. It’s been half a year and there’s nothing except teases and statements that only serve to anger consumers more. (“we aren’t releasing it here because the American consumer does not want to be confused about what he or she is buying.”)
We in the States are still VERY unhappy about the amiibo shortages plaguing roughly half of the released characters to the point where if you don’t get one the day it is released, you are never getting it, and the utter nonsense of retailer-exclusive figures. Nintendo is a multi-billion-yen company that clearly could afford to meet the demand for the figures if it wanted to, even if it had to spend a small fortune to do it (which in turn would net them a profit making up for the spending). Why they just won’t do it continues to baffle many of us fans to this day.
We in the States are still unhappy that we’ve been asking for Mother 3 to be released here, even if it’s digital-only, and it has not happened yet. The number of times the fan translation from 2008 was downloaded should be ample proof that, yes, there are hundreds of thousands of people who would love to play an official version.
There are several more examples I could cite, but I’ve chewed your ears off long enough. Point is, Nintendo is making it very hard to make fans stay with them right now.
It’s been the same for me, having worked for two, strong ecommerce companies. We would react strong to complaints from consumers.
Nintendo, it seems, is above all that. They would rather burn cash in a barrel than do anything customers want. They are all talk and lip service. I keep falling for their promises. :(
Nintendo is a mobile/ casual company now, and they may have enough younger gamers to support this. We just need to pray Sony’s gaming division survives so we aren’t all forced to buy PC’s.

No updated sport’s titles what so ever? Denial of fighting titles? No real adventure games besides Mario? If Devil’s Third comes through, and the Wii U version in North America is denied because of quality? If the game scores an 8 elsewhere Wii U is gone.

4. I like some shooting games which I have none of as of now but will get several later and will check psn later
5. I like strategy games even though I only played the disgaea series and will beat 1 and 2 but with what I’m doing will take forever then get 3 and 4 and 5 when it releases on the vita and will try other games
6. I like action and adventure games and haven’t really checked what they have on psn
7. I may like other genres but have to look at what is on the psn then look at game play on youtube
8. So for me there is more then enough and I will continue buying games in each of the genres listed and other genres non listed because I buy games I like not bitching from fan boys or specs or petitions etc etc and I will be also buying an 8 gig memory stick from eBay for 10 to 15 dollars which I got my 4 gig for 10 dollars and that was all the money I had at the time to devote to a memory card and it is the same now

Yea, because, as opposed to NoA, NoE and NoJ kept all the promises that were made about the WiiU, and they’re giving us the Metroid, Animal Crossing and F-Zero games everyone has been anticipating for years, and Zelda wasn’t delayed either, right? NoE and NoJ just listen so well to their supporters in every possible way, giving them things that have been in strong demand for so long, such as a unified account system, which has been a standard on other platforms for almost a decade now, and a well-working online infrastucture in general – so unlike what NoA does. The quality of the online multiplayer experience Nintendo’s games offer in Japan and Europe are so very unmatched, absolutely not the same as what NoA offers.
I just feel sorry for Nintendo’s American supporters because they had to watch that abysmal E3 presentation – I wish they could have seen the super secret super awesome presentation we Europeans and Japanese supporters saw! Too bad we’re not allowed to share it, it’s super secret after all.

To be honest, NoA has been messing with it’s customers lately with bizarre reasoning…
I will say, If you look at my Wii U library, it mainly consists of launch titles, or just main games from Nintendo like smash or mario 3d world. First America has the store exclusive amiibos, then they have the demos of games during e3…at best buy, then they have the new 3ds xl being the only version because if we have the regular new 3ds it will be too confusing…Noticing a pattern here. Ever since Nintendo had their bad start with the Wii U they have been struggling to get back on their feet. Instead of just being honest and coming out clean, they have lately been making excuses just to hide development delays or to try and satisfy customers.
I know for the longest time Nintendo has always done things their own way, but now it’s honestly starting to hurt them. E3 is all about being flashy and the competitiveness of each company, but now it’s not working so well. Heck I remember the E3 when the announced the 3DS and honestly it was a good E3, then after that they had the E3 with the Wii U, which again I liked and personally knew it was a new console…then last years E3 was amazing with Just everything…Nintendo has been having issues, which started back on the 64…because they keep going so far off the path, 3rd party companies have issues with the systems. With the 64 it was the cartridge based system, the the game cube it was the small discs, with the wii it was not being HD, with the Wii U it’s just been the whole system itself.
The Xbox One and PS4 both are systems which have been developed to be similar to PC’s which makes it easier to develop for. The Wii U is not as close to being a PC but also the hardware inside was not well optimized for anyone but Nintendo to use. Nintendo basically built a system with no breathing room for an outside developer which meant that development was more of a hassle. The Project cars game probably couldn’t just be ported over to the Wii U which meant it had to be almost rewritten from scratch. Some of the 3rd party games that were ported over to the Wii U which lag or glitch out, have issues in part because it isn’t optimized for the system which will create issues.
With Pikmin 3 for example, it was a beautifully designed game…but since Nintendo knew how to use the system, that’s how it came out so well. Same with Smash Brothers, Splatoon, well pretty much every Nintendo game. I remember how they boasted it would be more powerful than the xbox360 and ps3, how it would be capable of pixar like animations…even at the e3 reveal they showed some amazing stuff…but nothing came of it really.
In my opinion with Zelda U, most likely what happened is that they reached a limit for the system. The Wii U could no longer handle Zelda U’s open world that was seamless. Because of this, the game will probably have a lot of changes. I hope this isn’t the case, but probably the most likely reason though. Everything the system would have to handle in an open world game like that, I don’t know if it can handle it all efficiently enough. If it really is more powerful than the 360, then it should be able to run it since the 360 could run skyrim pretty well.
Anyways I’ve ranted long enough…basically nintendo needs to get their act together or they will eventually fall.

I hope Nintendo’s right about this not being a good game. Since testers are actually coming out and saying the game is shit as well, there’s a chance NoA might be right for once. If testers weren’t supporting NoA’s claims I wouldn’t believe ANY part of it. Not after refusing to bring over The Last Story, Pandora’s Tower, and Xenoblade Chronicles…thinking they know what they want. If this ends up being a good game and we don’t get it I’m done. No that was Nintendo of Japan that put money into the game. They payed for it so their getting it. and Europe is getting also cause they want it. But NOA? I don’t know what’s happening with them.
It doesn’t matter, though. Nintendo itself still paid money to fund the game, regardless of which branch (NoJ is the main branch, anyway, so their decisions effect NoE & NoA most of the time, anyway; A new game in a Nintendo franchise NEVER happens without the say so of NoJ), so they should be trying to help make the game better. This is just a prime example that Nintendo really could care less about 3rd party games. Just like the so called “marketing” of Bayonetta 2 is another prime example of them not giving a shit.
Maybe we’ll be proven wrong next year if Nintendo reveals the NX is supposed to be the most powerful Nintendo console ever built so that it can rival the other consoles & stand toe to toe with them.
But I’m not going to be holding my breathe & I’m keeping my expectations low.
