We heard yesterday via a report from Unseen64 that Nintendo of America isn’t prepared to publish and market Devil’s Third in the North American market. However, according to a report from Siliconera the game will be coming to the United States via another undisclosed publisher. This is great news for those of you in the United States who have wanted to play the game ever since it was originally announced for Wii U back in 2013.
“Siliconera has learned Devil’s Third will be released here by a publisher Siliconera readers are quite familiar with.”

I played my U a week or so ago, had a great 4-5 hour multiplayer run on ME3. I’m glad I got the N3DS tho. The 3D effect is better, and load times are faster. As my primary gaming machine, the upgrades were welcome! (and I’m finally playing through Xenoblade!)

Pushing Yoshi into October just for NA and not announcing any more new DLC for MK8 or anything else at E3 was also off-putting. The Ryu DLC came out early for Reggie to fail with at the NWC. But in reality they needed the to save the Ryu/Roy announcement launch for their E3 digital event, it didn’t matter that the news had already leaked, it still was a weighted announcement.
They should have also shown Fatal Frame 5 in the E3 digital event too.
It deserves more than just the eShop treatment, a physical release would be nice.
It seems to me that Koei Tecmo is going with my idea about if you are worried you’re game won’t sell well outside of Japan or won’t sell well on a specific console to just release the game digital only. First the announcement of Fatal Frame V being eShop only, and now Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 releasing only on the eShop. Since Hyrule Warriors did well on the Wii U, I doubt they’ll go digital only with the 3DS expansion pack game.

I doubt SEGA is the publisher. They don’t have any money to be publishing games. especially ones that seem like gambles. It has to be a company no one has ever heard of or is low on the radar that no one would think of. That or Bandai Namco.
Agreed. Sega can’t afford the risk. Sadly, I worry the fanbase Nintendo has ammassed on the U won’t support this kind of game. People can call Call of Duty rehash, but it is popular, and has been executed very well on the WiiU. As was Blacklist. GREAT multiplayer experiences, with gamepad use not even Nintendo has matched.
I hope the gameplay is solid. If it is, and it doesn’t sell, we’ll know for certain (as if we don’t already) that the gamers wanting more than Yoshi, Mario and DK are gone. (See how I tried not to use the word ‘hardcore there?) ;)
Rumor Dude: Devil’s Third will be releasing in 2016 as a launch title on the NX in NOA! Nintendo wants to showcase how powerful (underpowered) the NX will be by having an old never fully funded or finished former PS3 game release in the launch window.
