Nintendo And DigiPen Launch The DigiPen Game Studio

Nintendo has joined forces with video games and digital media university DigiPen. This new partnership will allow independent games from Singapore to be published on Nintendo platfroms. The new studio is titled DigiPen Game Studios (DGS) and it will enable developers in Singapore to produce titles for the Nintendo 3DS and possibly other formats. NX? DigiPen Singapore will organise its own conference which will allow local developers to submit their ideas for video games. If chosen, the game will then be developed and published on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Select developers will be mentored in the program by Digipen and it is expected that around ten games will be developed by next year.

DGS will provide our aspiring game developers with new opportunities to realise their dreams of making great games.

Angeline Poh, assistant chief executive at MDA

    1. No ya ain’t getting to make games for them yankee doodle. Kill yourself and be reborn as an Asian. That’s probably the best way.

  1. Yeah because the 3ds have problems with games ugh yet again Nintendo showing the 3ds more love then the Wii U

      1. Who’s talking about saving the Wii U? He only said it would be great is such a thing came on Nintendo’s Home Console. He never said that such a thing will save the Wii U…

    1. As much as I liked Iwata, it’s not like he died in 2012 when the WiiU got released. Chances that Nintendo might do it better with the NX haven’t really decreased since he’d gone. I just hope whoever might fill the mushroom-Throne now will be a good leader, a good player and a good human. And even then, Iwata actually met these requirements and Nintendo was still struggling, so there might have to be something above that. If anything than Nintendo needs to be more open to the west. Right now they have like no trust at all in the whole western world which still is the main audience for their games that are all targeting at japanese audiences. As much as I personally love japanese culture, movies, games and everything, Nintendo still needs to be able to appeal to the rest of the world as well. As long as they aren’t, nothing is about to change.

  2. My girlfriend’s going to Digipen training camps, meanwhile.. I’m learning how to become a competitive Smash Bros player. Galactic Commander save me from this cruel fate.

    1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

      >>>Your girlfriend will be fine, she’ll learn to become a scientist for the empire, also, you mentioned that you want to become an Elite Warrior>>>

      >>>Perhaps I can help by testing you from time to time just like I’ve done with the Boss Ass Bitch, he only has one test left before I declare him worthy of having the potential to become an Elite Warrior>>>

  3. Any chance we can get a program like that here in the States? I have a game idea/plot that I’ve been cooking up in my head for two years now but I have no programming knowledge or experience (I could be creative director though).

  4. so it would be mainly 3DS games, or indie games for 3DS on eshop. So not even indie games for the wii U… wouah no wonder why people think the wii U is dead. What a really poor product support Nintendo has demonstrated.
