Pokemon Movie Franchise Reaches Cumulative 70 Million Admissions In Japan

Pokemon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages has been a big success in Japan. Toho, who is the movie distributor for the Pokemon franchise in the country, says that the Pokemon movie series has now reached a cumulative of over 70 million in admissions. This puts the Pokemon series at fifth in cinema attendance record. Toho is hopeful that they will be able to gross ¥3 Billion with the movie. They didn’t manage it last time around as Pokemon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction made ¥2.91 billion.

      1. I think it’s the series that some of us don’t care for. Least the movies don’t have fucking Team Rocket ruining awesome fucking battles with their stupid fucking team monologue! How about you fuckers just blast off right now without interrupting a Pokemon battle because you’re going to get your asses kicked anyway!?

  1. Galactus The Planet Devourer

Holy shit! If that’s not enough reason to put Pokemon on the NX release roster I don’t know what is.

  2. Lol this is wt sells in Japan. A crappy Pokémon movie is 5th best selling. Wt a strange society indeed. Pokémon only ever had about 3 decent movies after that all downhill from there

    1. So you’ve seen every movie after the three or your just saying that. Or perhaps you grew up and realized Pokemon was for kids.

  3. (Speaking for when I loved the anime)
I never liked the Pokémon movies as much as the regular series. They were always based on some legendary Pokémon. And they were always too dark, serious, and sometimes hard to follow.

    1. I’m the opposite. Hate the series, love the movies. *glares at the loser trio of Jessie, James, & Meowth of Team Rocket* Just get killed off in a movie already… AND STAY DEAD!!!
