Digi-Capital, which is a financials and investment site, believes that the Nintendo NX will be Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality based. The site has taken an extensive look at statements from Nintendo employees such as Reggie Fils-Aime and Mr Miyamoto and checks these against facts to come to this conclusion. The site also backs up Unseen64’s claims that the console won’t be as powerful as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Digi-Capital also says that Nintendo won’t invest in a Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality headset, but will utilise smartphones along with the NX platform using its partnership with DeNA to produce the effects. I just got a PS4 for my birthday. PS4 really doesn’t have shit for games. Bloodborne is cool. That’s about it. The only time I really use the PS4 is to watch Dexter and The Walking Dead blu rays. Splatoon, Smash Bros and MK8 are the games I play on a regular basis. I haven’t found any fun games on PS4 yet. Not sure what all the hype was about. I’m content with my Wii U. If the PS4 wasn’t a birthday gift, I’d sell it.

If this was a rumor from Sony or MS I would be ok with it because their lack of pushing shit to the limit would mean that they would push the AR/VR but not shove it. Nintendo on the other hand commits and goes far beyond, so if the need of a Smartphone is mandatory on the NX to fully experience the games how they are ment to be played, then that worries and turns me off from the NX.

Sony made some game use smartphones, but it was only an option, a bonus function that didn’t affect a normal gameplay. (except for the last AC, which had a few content, and that was only a Ubisoft fail).
I don’t think Nintendo know what they’re doing at all… they failed and failed and failed, and it’s because they can’t settle on a console design to simply upgrade… they always have to go “Original” and that is what drags them behind. Because of this, they can’t turn their attentions to games…

There’s over two decades of sales data there that says these games don’t sell, even on the Juggernaut that was the Wii, look at third party sales, they didn’t make a dent compared to Nintendo software.
Third parties will still have to compete with Nintendo, they don’t have that problem over at Sony and Microsoft.

The thing that everyone forgets is that Nintendo make thier own games, making a console just for third parties is incredibly counter productive.
Imagine if Nintendo had that thought process for past consoles, we’d all still be using SNES controllers. Imagine SMB64 with no analogue stick?

Somebody (I think Reggie) already hinted that Nintendo is doing its own internal development on VR. He said it during some interview about VR and Occulus Rift I think.

I don’t believe in rumor… especially this bullshit. The “Nintendo Cross” is NOT a virtual reality or augmented reality system. It will be a home/portable system that I personally guarantee it’s gonna be a fun, unique, and innovative system. Just wait until Nintendo officially confirms their project next year and the launch of their finalized name of their new system in late 2017/early 2018.

I realised something while I was watching the live stream of Monster Hunter X. I think Capcom is gonna port it to the NX (since the name and I think it would make sense as well)
I doubt it seeing how Digi-Capital and Unseen 64 aren’t really trustworthy.
Case and point, the devs behind “Project HAMMER” confirmed that the game DID NOT exist at all and the “Wii U Metroid” game he talked about… yeah, funny how that was actually a 3DS Metroid game instead.
