Splatoon Rainmaker Mode Coming Tomorrow 7PM PT In North America

There’s a brand new Ranked Battle mode coming to Splatoon tomorrow at 7pm PT. The new mode is called Rainmaker and is essentially a capture the flag gameplay mode. One player takes control of the Rainmaker and the other players have to guard it, and the player, till the item is taken to the base. The new mode will be available in the United Kingdom and Europe on Saturday morning.

  1. My roommate and I were talking last night how awesome it would be if there was a capture the flag mode… Well, this is a pleasant surprise!

                          1. Eww hell no! I’m saying why I troll lmao! When I say some bs even though it will annoy people I’m just like fuck it and post it.

                            1. Oh that XD yeah, its pretty obvious man. I think that must be why you don’t get as much flack anymore. A couple years ago you and a few others would start 50-100 comment post lol.

                  >>>Indeed, it was at those times I became a real Elite Warrior>>>

                  >>>Nice shades by the way>>>

                  1. Thank you sir! Now people can see who’s behind this so called Nintendo fan that’s always bitch’in about Nintendo. >:D

(Besides, all this talk about how old we are, I wanted the young’ins to know Old School gamers are not all over-weight, pasty basement dwellers. )

              1. Yay for free disc locked content! *sarcasm* Fuck Splatoon, fuck Nintendo, & fuck the fanboys that defend it. I’m not going to get Super Mario Maker, either. I refuse to be part of the problem that perpetuates bullshit because they think the locked content idea was great because everyone bought it, not thinking about the fact that just because everyone bought it doesn’t mean everyone liked how the game was done.

            1. As much as I love the game, it would suck for those who didn’t have online access. The game would suck =_= but thank god I’m not one of those people

              1. Yea, this game would be worth like 10$ without the online. All you would have is the battle dojo, and story. Well maybe 15-20$ still.

                      1. You don’t want a game for one small feature? Surely you must not like other parts. Or are you really just so stuck up on that one little issue (and yes I said its an issue, I think VC should be in the game for those who want it, personally I don’t, except with friends but I can use Skype.)

                          1. Because VC is not a necessary thing. Even if the game did have it, a lot of people wouldn’t use it, the ones who did would mostly just talk smack and do nothing else, the odds of actually finding some one who wants to listen to some stranger screaming instructions and insults at them would be 1000 to 1.

                            1. Lmao, I’m just messing with you. I don’t really care if there isn’t VC. Obviously Nintendo is doing swthing right about this game. The whole idea about VC has been done to death to the point where its just a joke.

                              1. Wow you really got me there actually. My mind was about to explode at the thought of what you were saying, not having VC is a problem, but it’s so small I was blown away by all the people yelling and screaming about it. I do want VC with friends though, that’s actually useful with the new matchmaking options in the last update, I guess Skype isnt hard to do at all though. That’s the only problem I’ve had with the game and it’s a tiny issue.

                                1. Anubis the G.O.A.T

I wasn’t going to stop messing with you but I respect you more than others to just keep on annoying you. I just want VC for friends and that’s my statement. I don’t have Skype and it would be more inconvenient imo. :P

                              2. “Because VC is not a necessary thing.”

That is dependent on your play style. Someone like me, I rely on voice chat and there still isn’t a day that I play Splatoon and never feel it isn’t needed. I’m very competitive and I like to make sure my team wins, and I can’t always do that without voice chat.

Ranked is just horrible without it. Even at times Turf Wars can be absolutely no fun because of it, but again, I guess that depends on what want out of the game. I play it in a competitive role, and play mainly nothing but ranked. I just think it would be nice if companies could take both parties into consideration, I’m not saying everyone has to like voice chat, but I also think it is a bit unfair people who do enjoy voice chat and can use it responsibly don’t have the option to in the game. Sure you can use skype or something but it isn’t convenient, and you don’t always have friends up a the same time you are or around in general to skype with.

I also think people greatly over exaggerate how bad voice chat is, because even on Xbox Live which is one of the worst communities there are, it was not that bad all the time. So I’m certain it wouldn’t be that bad on the Wii U.

Like you said, it’s a small problem to you, but for some people like me who really aim for that competitive feel in the game, and don’t necessary play it for nothing but fun. It is a big problem.

                                1. For me, voice chat is not just about competitive gameplay but for the fun factor in being able to have friendly trash talking amongst others. And if someone wants to do unfriendly trash talking, then I can get with that & fire right back. It’s also nice to talk about random crap once in awhile, too, while having fun.

                                2. Ugh! I bet that’s another reason they didn’t want to add voice chat: because they wanted people to stay on bloody topic, just like they are trying to force us to do in Miiverse.

                            2. I agree with batman, I’ve played team fortress 2 a lot and only once did someone use the voice chat, and he got kicked out of the server

                  1. The same can be said about a lot of Call Of Duty games but yet still cost $60. Most of their campaigns can be beaten within a period of 4 to 5 hours in the first day

                    1. As always. I got one defender upset because I’m pretty pissed at the 9 day waiting period bullshit for Mario Maker which wouldn’t be an issue for me if it was the only bullshit call from Nintendo in the last year. Fuck Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, AND Miiverse!

              2. it’s essential you work together. Thats why we didn’t include voice chat to allow you to work together.

              3. Ooooh, I’m looking forward to this. Splat Zones can be extremely one-sided and I don’t really like Tower Control, so this looks like (I really tried to avoid it) a breath of fresh air.
