The review scores from the latest edition of Japanese gaming publication Famitsu are in. The review that you will be most interested in is Devil’s Third. The fast and frantic shooter received good review scores as the four reviewers gave it an 8/9/8/8 which is rather impressive given the feedback from western media. Western media is so used to COD and Battlefield that if anything strays from that playstyle they cry. I will try the game, simply because I don’t trust other people telling me if a game is any good.
I’m getting it regardless.

Saying that countries like France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Spain or even Germany may like this kind of game since their taste of games are similar to Japanese market.
As already mentioned in the article, Famitsu is usually very generous with their scores, so this really doesn’t mean much. To get a better picture of the game, it’s probably better to wait for other respected websites, if reviews really do matter to you.

Unfortunately, I genuinely do not care a single bit about this game, so it’s absolutely irrelevant to me personally what reviewers have to say about it. They can praise it to no end, or criticize it to no end, I just really don’t care.
Now, you might wonder why I bothered to leave a comment then. Well, the reason is, after seeing that the writers of MNN thought Famitsu reviewing it is worth an article, I simply wanted to add my personal thoughts on the matter. It might as well have been an article about Famitsu reviewing Mario Maker, Star Fox or any other game really, my comment would have been the same. As you might notice when taking a closer look at what I said in my original comment, I didn’t even mention the name of the game; so basically, my comment could very well apply to any review of Famitsu, as I’ve described above.

If any game should teach you about how reviewers can sometimes be totally wrong it’s Wonderful 101. Every person I know who owns the game or has played it praised and loved it but yet it’s sitting with a ridiculously mediocre score of 78 on Metacritic. I’m still scratching my head on that one….smh
Meh, I tried and didn’t like it, in the games defense, I tried it during a time were I didn’t take the time to actually learn the game. The mechanics and controlls seemed to difficult. And the use of the gamepad was too much for me. It is a beautiful game though, and I’ve seem people who are ally good at play it and looks pretty awesome. Like I said though, just not for me.

What the hell? when has Famitsu been “generous” with their scores? Just a couple years ago they were well known for being extremely critical.
This is the same thing I was thinking. In my experience with Famitsu it’s usually pretty hard to get a straight 9 out of them let alone the very rare straight 10 and those games really deserved it for the most part. I’m surprised to hear this from Sickr himself too. Famitsu has been around for a long time too. Have they become so generous?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. No disrespect to reviewers like MyNintendoNews and anyone else from other media sites, but I don’t buy games based on their reviews. If I like the look of the game, I take the plunge pretty much. Devil’s Third looks fantastic and I’m looking forward to unboxing it next Friday and uploading content on both modes. Still waiting to see news on Steam itself for PC multiplayer as I’ll get that too and do a comparison for my channel sure! :)
Whoa…….didn’t see that coming given how this game has been getting a lot of negativity as of late. I’m glad I went my instinct and preordered it instead of going along with the people who claimed it was horrible because they probably only played the single player campaign. Now I’m really anticipating it

The game looks amazing in online MP on youtube looks smooth enough and the graphics are good considering 3rd person basically a TPS/FPS hybrid so more demanding on hardware then a FPS and all the tatics in all them game modes destroys COD….
inb4 Nintendo paid them or Famitsu just casually lick their ass. The game is bad from what I’ve heard.
