Amazon.com has now started to sell digital Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games on their website. Sadly as with most digital versions they are slightly more pricey than the physical version. You can buy a variety of Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games including New Super Mario Bros 2, Splatoon, Hyrule Warriors and many more. Here’s the games that are supported so far on Amazon.
- Super Smash Bros.
- Pokemon X
- Pokemon Y
- Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon
- Mario Golf: World Tour
- Tomodachi Life
- Little Battler’s eXperience
- New Super Mario Bros. 2
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf
- Puzzle & Dragons
- Fantasy Life
- Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
- Kirby Triple Deluxe
- A Link Between Worlds
- Yoshi’s New Island

Why are digital games more expensive?
Stupidity.
Fuckity fuck fucks!
That’s nice to know, although I’m not a fan of digital download.
Can someone detail the advantages of purchasing from Amazon over the Nintendo eShop?
Sometimes I get lots of Amazon gift cards during the holidays
You can use Amazon gift card from textbook trade-ins, if you’re a student and trade-in books on Amazon. Or if you have Amazon credit card, you get some benefits, that I’m not aware of. Amazon, sometimes, are cheaper than retail and eShop so that’s an another thing to take advantage of. Otherwise it’s your personal preference.
You won’t have to navigate through the dated eShop UI. Nintendo’s made some big improvements from the Wii Shop Channel but the eShop could still use a great deal of work.
I hate how digital is almost always more expensive than physical, and I was hardcore against it at first,…but I have to admit, once I started downloading, it’s so fucking great to have my game library at my fingertips all the time.
Animal Crossing, MH4, Shovel Knight, ALBW, i only have a few Carts left…the rest I traded off after downloading the game.
I had to put a 128 gig micro SD in my 3DS tho. Lol. And I’m running out of space…D; I hope I can squeeze a 256 micro SD into the N3DS using the same method I got my 128 in!
My biggest worry is when games start to go over 4 gigs, then the FAT32 format won’t work and I’m fucked until Nintendo patches the firmware to recognize NTSC storage over 64gig! (they are behind as usual)

Cool, glad to see there’s a way to digital purchase games without turning on the console all the time, but unless these digital games are going to be cheaper in the near future, I see no justification in having the digital games more expensive than the physical ones.
