Toon Link Confirmed Playable In Hyrule Warriors Legends For Nintendo 3DS

The latest edition of Famitsu has today confirmed that Toon Link will be playable in the forthcoming Hyrule Warriors Legends on the Nintendo 3DS. Toon Link joins the likes of Tetra and the King of Hyrule. The magazine revealed that Toon Link is a fast and agile character who moves swiftly when he swings his sword. However, one thing to note is the fact Toon Link won’t be playable in Legend Mode, but he is available in the other modes and if you own the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U game then you can play as Toon Link in the console version. One last thing to add is the Wind Waker story for Legend Mode. Tetra will be playable, and the King of Hyrule and The Helmasaur King will make an appearance.

        1. That is such an incredibly subjective opinion I just couldn’t keep quiet. Wind Waker remains my absolute favorite Legend of Zelda game of all time, and considering how insanely well it was received by fans and critics alike, to even suggest that it’s an objectively bad game is ludicrous, to say the least.

It’s not the worst to me. I just find it boring. I don’t think any Zelda will ever give me the same feeling OOT did when I first played it.

        2. I thought skyward sword was excellent, the wii motion plus could be a frustration at times, but you can’t beat the storyline and the music of that game.

      1. It’s my 2nd favorite Zelda game, and I like it JUST BARELY less than Majora’s Mask. The only reason why Wind Waker is 2nd for me is because of the dungeons, which I find to be easy but very tedious.

        1. Wind Waker is part of my top 5 favorite Zelda games because of the faster combat. That & the end of the game set up a potential for the series to have a line of games that weren’t tied to Hyrule. Sadly, Spirit Tracks ruined that potential when we were given a carbon copy of the original Hyrule…

          1. I actually really like Spirit Tracks. Phantom Hourglass felt like Wind Waker “0.5”, and it felt like it was watered down compared to Wind Waker, although it’s still good and what else would you expect from a handheld Zelda. Spirit Tracks, on the other hand, actually had a nice bit of exploration that you could do in the game, and the soundtrack for Spirit Tracks is amazing.

              1. I understand. My friend said the same thing to me, but I think the HD version speeds it up a bit with the Swift Sail and such. I still think that the dungeons were my least favorite part of the game still though.

  1. So… I can only get the Wind Wakker pakket, which is my most favorite LOZ game… With buying the 3DS version so I can have it on my console version…? That is so goddamn stopid…

    1. Because 3ds owners begged for a port, wii u loses one of few exclusives it has and gets treated unfairly by the developers. Smh

  2. The Wind Waker characters & the Wind Waker story better be DLC for the Wii U version that I can buy for under 25 bucks. In fact, this shit should be a new DLC pack for the Wii U version, not a fucking port of Hyrule Warriors for the 3DS! But I doubt we’ll even get the extended story mode since Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper for Wii U has yet to get ANY of the Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate added content.

This, along with Smash 3DS, are the worst ideas EVER!! Way to fix the Wii U’s problem with very little exclusives, Ninten

    1. Could not have said it better myself. It’s backpedaling like this that makes me think Nintendo doesn’t care about the Wii U at all and won’t care if it fails but gods forbid something happens to their pure-bred 3DS.

    2. Um, people were BEGGING for a portable smash. That was a really smart move It’s still a Wiiu exclusive as they are titled separately, and the WiiU has WAY more content than the 3ds version.

Btw, you really overuse that pic. Doesn’t get any funnier. :/

More content like what? That useless party mode? More trophies? Demos of Virtual Console games? And the 3DS has ALL of the same characters. While the portability does seem nice, there was no need for a 3DS version. Smash has always been a console game. And without a doubt, the Wii U version would’ve had much more content if they focused solely on that instead of doing two versions. Also, begging doesn’t mean anything. People beg for F-Zero and a new Metroid and look where that went. Nintendo does not care.

        1. If there wasn’t a 3DS version, the Wii U might have gotten more sales when Smash finally released. Instead, the 3DS version gave a lot of the cheap gamers another reason to not even bother with the Wii U. With Hyrule Warriors getting ported to 3DS, there goes another reason to not get a Wii U.

          1. That doesn’t make any sense as the 3DS wasn’t a port version of the WiiU version, they were BOTH announced at once and one’s sales wouldn’t affect the other if they are on DIFFERENT consoles, one home and one portable.

            1. HollowGrapeJ (The Legendary Video Game Master And Anime Wizard)

Yes it would. You don’t understand. If Smash Bros was only on Wii U, then people would have to buy a Wii U in order to play it. If it’s on the 3DS, then WTF is the point of getting it on Wii U? And don’t give me that “different stages, content, etc” BS. Only hardcore Nintendo fans and Smash fans would double dip. The casual person isn’t gonna buy a new system just to play what is basically the same game.

              1. They have different features. The wiiu one can play on the tv and has 8 friggin player smash, as well as much more content in it music wise and collectible wise. the 3ds version is meant to be portable and for playing anywhere, while the other one has more features.

                1. HollowGrapeJ (The Legendary Video Game Master And Anime Wizard)

They’re the same gameplay wise. Like I said, nobody but hardcore fans or completionist care about that extra stuff. They wouldn’t buy it again.

                    1. HollowGrapeJ (The Legendary Video Game Master And Anime Wizard)

And? Nobody is going to purchase a Wii U and get 7 additional controllers. What they’re gonna do is keep the game on the 3DS and not waste their time buying a Wii U. If the game was a Wii U exclusive, they would have no choice but to buy a Wii U to play it.

I would say don’t bother with him anymore, Hollow, but I won’t listen to my own advice. It’s fun to see him continue to ignore the mistakes Nintendo has made this gen & ignore our good points. But he hasn’t jumped on the “Metroid Prime: Federation Force is great!” bandwagon yet so there might be some hope for him some day to break away from the fanboy/worshiper mindset he’s got right now. In fact, he’s practically a mirror image of what me & Stranga use to be.

        2. Smart move? Oh really? And I guess porting Hyrule Warriors to the 3DS is also an even smarter move. Let’s just port every Wii U exclusive to the 3DS since it’s such a smart move to let your home console sink.

          1. HollowGrapeJ (The Legendary Video Game Master And Anime Wizard)

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mario Maker made its way to the 3DS…

            1. Xenoblade Master Ridley X3

Smash 3DS & Hyrule Warriors Legends is the same principle: a game that should be exclusive to the Wii U to help bolster it’s sales but is instead put on two consoles, allowing the home consoles sales to be cannibalized by the cheaper selling version on the handheld. So by defending Smash 3DS as a good move, you’re effectively supporting Hyrule Warriors Legends as a smart move.

                1. Xenorogue Master Ridley X3

Oh how much I wish something would have gone terribly wrong that they couldn’t release the free updates to Splatoon at all & everyone that bought it day 1 was now stuck with a $20 game that they bought for $60 bucks.

*facepalm* Wrong freaking article & wrong freaking conversation! Must remember to be more careful responding to comments using my WordPress account instead of my email!

    3. He’s also staring in your soul, if that top image is any indication.

Also: Yay Toon Link. I’ve been waiting for more Legends news.

    5. It’s not the Helmasaur King. This a boss from A Link to the Past. We’re talking about the Helmaroc King. One’s a bird.
