Good news for European Mario fans, the Photos with Mario app is now available to download in your region. The app was originally released in Japan in April 2013, and North America in May 2014. The app combined with the camera function on your Nintendo 3DS allows you to take pictures and include Mario characters in the shot.
For those wondering how to get the application, Nintendo have released a series of eShop cards that include Mario themed AR cards, on the back of the card there’s a download code for the Photos with Mario app. Here’s the instructions available on Nintendo’s official website:
“Download the free “Photos with Mario” application to your Nintendo 3DS family system using the download code on the back of the AR Card included with your Nintendo eShop Card.
To download Photos with Mario, follow these simple steps:
- Make sure the system is connected to the internet and has the latest system update.
- From the HOME Menu, select to open Nintendo eShop.
- Select the MENU tab on the top left of the lower screen.
- Select REDEEM DOWNLOAD CODE.
- Enter the 16-figure download code in the screen that is displayed, select OK and follow the on-screen instructions.”
The Nintendo website linked below has a PDF file that lists participating retailers to help you locate where to get the themed eShop cards.
The 3DS’s VR is still a thing?
Cool – all free with the purchase of £90 worth of eshop cards…
Look at the bright side: you can almost buy half of the Smash Bros DLC with that!
