NPD October: Wii U Sales Are Up And Amiibo Sales Were 800,000

We found out which titles were the best-selling in the United States during the month of October, but we didn’t really receive any substantial hardware figures. However, the NPD has confirmed to IGN that Wii U sales have increased by 40% over last October. The company says that sales of its Wii U console “have increased more than 20 percent in the first 10 months of 2015,” compared to the same time period last year. This is partly due to the Super Mario Maker bundle which has proved to be a hit with consumers and that’s not all. Amiibo cards and figure sales reached 800,000 in the United States in October alone. Lifetime sales of amiibo are now at 9 million in the United States.

  1. Amiibo will outsell the WiiU easily.
Low WiiU sales make it very easy to get their sales up. If they can’t do that in Nov / Dec, they would have to be sabotaging themselves.

Besides the typical retail -holiday bump, Nintendo better brace for a shitty year’s end.

  2. Rogue Master XenoRidley X3

Yay! More percentages with no real numbers to back it up! I’m so freaking ecstatically excited! *sarcasm ends*

The amiibo sales should so be a hell of a lot higher than 9 freaking million. Nintendo’s failure in stocking amiibo is to blame for the low sales of amiibo. Yes. 9 million is low for something that should be selling close to billions!
