Happy 25th Birthday SNES!

This month is packed with Nintendo anniversaries, with the Wii, Wii U, amiibo, and even Shigeru Miyamoto celebrating their birthdays in November. The same is true for the Super Nintendo Entertainment system,  which launched in Japan on November 21, 1990 as the Super Famicom. What better way to celebrate the 25th birthday of the revolutionary console than to embarrass it with old home videos. Happy Birthday SNES!

  1. One of the best consoles out there, I absolutely adore it. I actually still have mine, sitting on my shelf right by my TV, and it’s still working (almost) perfectly fine.
All the childhood memories I connect to it, just too good. It’s hard to put in words how much I love it. :p

  2. I still have mine. I’ll always remember the adapter that let 5people play. We had so much fun playing hockey with 5 people…

  3. My favorite console, bar none. It introduced me to a lot of different IPs and I’m still discovering its hidden gems to this day. I still have to play Seiken Densetsu 3.

    1. seiken densetsu 3 is good but not has good as the previous entry known as secret of mana outside japan. Saying that I will play that game anytime, compare to final fantasy XIII. You really have to play that game cause it was made during the time were squaresoft was good.

        1. nah FFVI is way better (well I am bias cause I think it is the best Final Fantasy). Seiken Densetsu 3 (aka secret of mana 2) is good and I would strongly advise you to play that game. If you are not a graphics whore then go for it.

  4. It’s common sense that the game industry survived to its 80’s crash thanks to Nintendo.

The NES initiated and paved the way, and the SNES defined tendencies, consolidated the market and was the cradle where several franchises were born and raised.

Good, old days. I miss them so much.

And miss that good, old Nintendo, too.

There’s a few games on the SNES that I played & loved but sadly I don’t remember their names. Shame. But least I remember the greats like Donkey Kong Country series (which I never beat any of those), SUPER MARIO WORLD, Super Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Street Fighter 2, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (never beat this either), Zombies Ate My Neighbors (lol didn’t even beat this game, either), SUPER METROID… *sigh* My golden era of video gaming is definitely the N64 & GCN eras.
