For good or bad, today is the one year anniversary of Nintendo’s wildly addictive collectible figures. Launching November 21, 2014 (simultaneously with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U), the first figures released were Mario, Donkey Kong, Peach, Yoshi, Link, Samus, Villager, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Marth, and Wii Fitness Trainer. As many remember, the success of the figures were unprecedented, leading to Wii-like stocking problems that still feels reverberations today. From those humble beginnings, amiibo moved from 12 to 79 released amiibo (with 13 more on the way), 4 amiibo-Skylander crossovers, and 100 amiibo cards. Since then, Amiibo remains one of the largest money makers for Nintendo, especially in the past two years of limited success for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U sales. How many do you have in your collection?

I almost have the entire Smash line- only missing Wario, Toon Link, Wii Fit Trainer, Ike, Robin, and Lucina, and the DLC fighters sans Mewtwo.
I’m done for a long time after I complete Sm4sh.

Ive got Dark Pit, Pit, Palutena, Peach, Zelda, Little Mac, Ness, Mario, Pikachu, Toad, Toon Link and the Pink Yarn Yoshi. Now I all I want is Lucas. All I wanted from the beginning was Little Mac but the amiibo craze got to me.

First one I got was Villager. I’ve got Kirby, Toon Link, Pac-Man, Gold Mario (x2). And the retro three pack (Duck hunt, R.O.B. Game&Watch)
I just want the one’s I mainly use in SSB. With exception of R.O.B. all minty clean.

Play asia does have the other amiibo youre looking for but at a much steeper price. However, they do go on sale from time to time for half off, so its good to check back every once in a while. Hoped I helped!

It’s Link. I got it because I wanted the Spinner in Hyrule Warriors and it came free if you bought Smash Wii U on launch day at (I think) Best Buy. I haven’t really had a need for anymore amiibo, but I almost got the Green Yarn Yoshi bundled with the game, although they happened to be out of it at the Target I went to for the “Buy 2 games, get 1” deal. (I got Final Fantasy X+X-2 HD for PS4 though, so at least there’s that.)

I have every amiibo, except for gold Mario (the dumb Skylanders ones and amiibo cards don’t count). I even have two of many. I’m slowly but surely buying a second of each so I can open one and keep the other new. Sadly, amiibo has ruined my entire year, because I’ve been goiing broke with every wave. I can’t even buy Christmas gifts this year because of it.
And even after a full year, people working in stores still act clueless when it comes to amiibo. Every time I ask about an amiibo, you can tell they know NOTHING about them. Some people sure are square.

I’ve gotten all Smash amiibo released so far, the eight Super Mario series figures, the three regular Yarn Yoshis, the three Splatoon figures, and the 8-bit Super Mario Maker figure.
Now I just need to wait patiently for Lucas, Roy, Ryu, Cloud, Wolf Link and Gold Mega Man.
