Animal Crossing Grabbers With Holiday Badges On Nintendo Badge Arcade

Those of you who fancy trying your luck on the Nintendo Badge Arcade are currently in for a treat. Nintendo America has updated the game with three Animal Crossing grabbers with holiday badges. There’s a distinct Christmas theme floating around the Nintendo Badge Arcade this week, so here’s what’s available!

  • Isabelle in her purple winter coat, three snowflakes, a glow wand
  • Rudy the cat, and Freya the wolf.
  • The second machine has Jingle the reindeer and his sack of gifts, two presents, Flurry the hamster, and Skye the wolf.
  • The final machine has the four snowmen of the Snowman family, in case someone wants Snowman, Snowmam, Snowboy, and Snowtyke.

  1. Really hoping for a new theme deal soon. I’m always tempted to pour cash into this, but would rather it come with a theme juuuust in case I’m not feelin the heart of the crane that day.

    1. It would be great if Nintendo didn’t use pressure tactics and if practice mode wasn’t damn near impossible to earn free plays.

      1. I don’t know if it’s impossible. I generally clear out a practise cabinet at least once before I run out of tries and that generally gives 3 free plays, which isn’t too shabby.

  2. I would have paid $10 for this game just for fun. They won’t get a dime with this version. I’ll take free when I can get it.

Nintendo knows not many are good with crane games. In fact, they are counting on it because that’s where most of the money for this game will come from: people not skilled at crane games but really want that specific badge. Eventually, the pressure of the fact the badge they want will be gone in a few days & they don’t know when, if ever, the badge will be available again, they’ll give in & sink money into it. Crane game manufacturers have gotten rich off of crane games for decades because of this fact. And even if you can eventually build up skill, the damage is done. You’ve already spent more than enough money on it & will continue to spend even more money on it even if you are skilled because you see something in it you really want. So you sink even more money in to it as you use the crane to move the shit you don’t want out of the way so you can get access to the thing you do want. Sadly, to move shit out of the way, you have to spend money to do it or you risk the chance of leaving it for the day & coming back the next day or week to find it gone because someone else got it.

In the end, crane games are gambling rip offs. But the companies will defend it by saying “It’s a game of skill, so it’s not gambling!” But here’s the rub. The fact you SPEND MONEY on it for a CHANCE to win something is the very definition of gambling! It doesn’t matter if some people become skilled at it because at the heart of it, it’s still gambling.

But what do I know? I’m just a spinster that spins shit to suit my “whining.”
