Capcom Confirms That There Will Be No Subspecies In Monster Hunter X

In the latest issue of Nintendo Dream, an interview with Capcom revealed that there will be no subspecies included in Monster Hunter X.

However, the developers did mention that “it depends on what you consider a subspecies” for example, it will be monsters such as ‘Rathalos subspecies’ and other ‘subspecies’ that won’t be included in the title.

Capcom advises that the exclusion of these subspecies is due to them wanting to add more variety of the regular monsters instead.

  1. Always thought the subspecies were just something “extra” not necessary in any means. Plus it gives developers a chance to focus on the new monsters, animations and habits, instead of doing recolors and give a few new moves and more aggro to the same monsters skeletons.
