Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Supports Wii Remote And Nunchuck

One of the games that I suspect the majority of you are looking forward to next year on the Wii U is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. We don’t know too much about the remaster other than it is being developed by Tantalus Media. However, the official website for Nintendo Sweden has revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will support both the Wii Remote and Nunchuck, if that’s the control scheme you would prefer. Of course, you can also use the trusty Wii U GamePad as your control method of choice.

    1. If it has gamepad support then it will most likely have pro controller support. A lot of Wii U games as of late have been supporting all styles of control that the Wii U offers

      1. lol pro controller. “what about fit board support” the gamepad is already the pro controller. I hope its like pikmin where the gamepad is a map option even if your using wii remote.

        1. The fitboard is a dumb analogy. The gamepad is not the pro controller. The pro controller is the pro controller. That’s its name. Not everyone loves the gamepad. Not sure what the sarcasm is for.

A Gamepad & Wiimote/Nunchuk combo, eh? That’s my thoughts & hopes for future Zelda titles to offer as an optional control scheme. I’d gladly play every Zelda title like that if given the chance.

It’d definitely make the adventure aspect all the more genuine since in real life your map is a separate item you have to mess with.

    1. The trailer showed Link holding his sword in his left hand, so I’m assuming the map will be the original gamecube version. The wii version was only mirrored to allow Link’s sword to appear in his right hand.

It’s possible that the mirrored version will appear when Remote controls are being used to allow right-handed sword handling.

  1. Thats cool. Hope it also includes the inventory on the gamepad like WindWaker HD did. Imo that is a fantastic way to use the gamepad, made switching items a lot smoother.

  2. That’s awesome for the people who were used to using motion controls for the Wii version of the game but for me I’m good with the gamepad as my primary control option for the new game. The gamepad has become one of my favorite controllers of all-time and in my opinion one of the most intuitive so I really don’t know why a lot of people don’t like it

I’ve never laughed so hard in my life.

                  1. I have an account on ps4 but I don’t play it anymore I stopped playing on it when house of wolves came out. I play it on Xbox one now.

                    1. Tbh I wanted to know if that paid dumbass would pick up on my incorrect username. But he didn’t, Kudos to you sir!

    1. That’s the one I have. Would be nice to use it again. I’ll probably end up using the gamepad mostly though. I’ve already experienced the Wii controls and am up for something different.

                  1. Umm excuse me, that is highly offensive to me and if you don’t apologize, I will have to call the cops because your behavior is highly unacceptable.

      1. I do love the game pad myself, it’s one of the most advanced controller with motion controls, touch screen, 6.2screen and can stream games to the controller that’s amazing nothing can beat this controller and Wiiu does have so many different methods including pro controller, remote + nunchuk, Wiiu is only console having best controllers on any console and really like wii remote + nunchuk being shield and sword that was one of the best control system used in Zelda game and yes having same control system Zelda twilight princess HD Wiiu will be great addition, once again.

                        1. Anubis (Hic Jacket)

I lead a group of guardians which are all resurrected from death by yours truly. They will easily wipe you and your pathetic empire from existence.

      2. well I hope they don’t do a wii twist on that game and put the original map with wii remote capability. I have the game cube version of this game and was not interest in the wii version. To be honest the wii U version should really bring something more to the game and the inclusion of gamepad will be something more the gamecube and wii version don’t have. If the gamepad is not included I personally don’t see the point. HD resolution?? better lightning effects???? I am not a graphics whore and I am very satisfy with my gamecube version.

      3. But will Link be left handed or Right? I’m left handed and it’s for that very reason i did not enjoy Skyward Sword.

I hope using the Wiimote comes with left handed & right handed options. More importantly, if it doesn’t use Wii Motion Plus, why the point in using the Wiimote at all? I’m not going back to Waggle City, damn it! Near perfect motion control or none at all.
