Phil Spencer “Would Be Happy” To See More Nintendo Related Games On Xbox One

Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, has said on Twitter that he would love to see more Nintendo titles on the Xbox One. There’s already a number of Nintendo console titles available on the Xbox One thanks to Rare Replay. There’s Banjo Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Killer Instinct amongst others. The news comes after Microsoft announced that it would be bringing the incredibly popular Minecraft to the Wii U. Perhaps Xbox One owners will get Nintendo skins in the game, though that remains to be seen!

    1. Calm down you little fanboy. Phil Spencer is a great dude and just saying if Banjo would come to Smash it would happen because of him. Plus the core of Rare left to Playtonic and Yooka Laylee is coming to Wii U anyways.

      1. Both Retro and Playtonic are basically both halves of the once great Rareware… Imagine if they fused together to form an amazing Playtro… Err, Replaytonic? No, Retronic.

        1. Only some of Retro is past Rare guys, not the whole team. And Playtonic is only 6 guys from Rare. The rest are scattered around everywhere, some are at Nintendo, some started their own studio like the guy who created Conker, his studio is called Gory Detail.

    2. Wow, wow, wow… To begin with, there was a deal between Microsoft and Nintendo back in 2001/2002 in which the first agreed to sell Rare and its IP content to Microsoft.

So, if you want to get angry, get angry with Nintendo. They are the ones to blame.

Exactly. NintenD’OH! *facepalm* were the idiots that sold their shares of Rare to Microsoft, letting them 100% own the awesome Rare IPs like Perfect Dark, Banjo & Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Blast Corps, and others!

Oh but there is! Nintendo could have partnered with Microsoft & kept the Rare IPs from going into the shitstorm that they are in now & when they made bank off the Wii, they could have used some of the money off of that to buy Microsoft’s shares of Rare. Instead, they went the retarded route & let all of those awesome IPs go! Which brings us to today where I have to fucking get a console I don’t want nor like from a company I hate being in the video game industry because Nintendo FUCKED up because they were too stupid to think about the IPs being used for future endeavors. But with how terrible Nintendo treats some of it’s own franchises like Ice Climbers & F-Zero, the only thing those Rare games would have been is N64 virtual console stuff. But I would have been perfectly happy with that outcome…

              >>>Partnering themselves with Microsoft, are you even listening to yourself?>>>

              >>>That’s like committing suicide, they are nothing more than evil greedy corrupt imbeciles that destroy everything they touch, I’m glad the empire didn’t have anything to do with those disgusting NSA, DRM, Xbot creating disease>>>

Nintendo’s loss then. Looks like an Xbone for Rare Replay is my only hope to play the very games I grew up on during the N64 era. Sad how I’ll be forced to play what was once great games on a Nintendo console on enemy territory. Sacrifices must be made to relive the glory days of Rare.

When the Xbone is under 200 bucks some day, I’ll have Rare Replay myself & will be able to relive the glory days of the N64, and of Rare, since Nintendo’s N64 VC is severely lacking with those titles gone from Nintendo’s library. What’s even sadder is the fact there are tons of other IPs that were on the N64 & Nintendo apparently hasn’t done a damn thing to get them onto the VC. 24 titles out of 100s of N64 games. Pathetic… I don’t give a fuck about licensing crap. Just pay the 3rd parties for the right to use their N64 titles as virtual console & be done with it to get past the licensing bullshit. I guess they’d rather blow that money on shit like Metroid Prime: Federation Farce, Animal Crossing: amiibo Bored Game, & Mario Tennis Ultra Trash.

            1. When Nintendo realized that the Wii U would suffer from lack of proper support from 3rd parties, they should have decided to put on it ALL THE GAMES EVER RELEASED on Nintendo platforms, and market the Wii U as the “console where you play the all games of your life” — I think I’ve said this already elsewhere. Anyway, it would not completely save the Wii U, but would boost its market appeal a bit. Instead, Nintendo neither looked for this obvious solution, nor put true effort to deliver true experiences through proper installments of Animal Crossing, Metroid, F-Zero, etc.

Both the Wii/Wii U virtual console services are a joke.

On the XBOne: man, Rare Replay is amazing! Don’t know about the XBOne going under 200 bucks, but I think the 299 MSRP is well worth already. I’ve been enjoying mine a lot, and I can say it’s definitely a great home console.

  1. Now if they’d just work together to add Banjo & Kazooie to Sm4sh all would be well.

Well… we’d still need King K.Rool, Geno, and possibly Viewtiful Joe, Snake and Shovel Knight but I don’t think any of them would really require Phil’s approval or involvement.

  2. Here’s a deal for him: Let Nintendo have a Halo game on NX, and he’ll get a Mario game of some sort in exchange.

    Otherwise, no deal.
Spencer and Microsoft didn’t even make Minecraft; they own it by proxy, but it is not the fruit of their own creativity, unlike Nintendo’s games.

    1. No. No no no. Halo is an inferior Metroid Prime… I’d rather have the next Monolith Title, Scalebound, or the next Gears of war, or… Wait, what am I saying, I can play those now! XD

      1. Scalebound was a pivotal buying decision factor for me when I decided to pick up a XBOne.

And, as I told you, it ended up being the home console I’ve been using the most.

Picked up Rise of The Tomb Raider already?

        1. Yeah. My brother and dad got one, pluss all my microsoft videos transferred. Plus we can use a tablet or PC soon as a second screen like the gamepad…scalebound is icing on the cake.
I can’t wait to see what Monolith can do with fewer hardware limitations.

No tomb raider yet, but it’s high on my list!

          1. Yeah, XBOne is shaping up to be a great platform We forgot about backwards compatibility, which is really nice.

When you say “Monolith”… I think you want to mean “Platinum”, right? ;)

        2. There are some mixed reviews of Black ops 3, but it’s like playing a CGI Terminator movie…i mean jaw-dropping graphics. If you like Robocop, meets terminator, meets Johnny Mnemonic with a hint of Fightclub, I’d recommend it, if only for the campaign mode. And once you finish, you can replay campain mode with a twist… It’s a Zombie outbreak instead of a Skynet takeover! I digress. I’m new to this 3rd party stuff and love scifi, so it won me over pretty hard.

      2. Nintendo Magistrate: Lance Bulmer

I Agree with Jaded Halo(Gaylo) Is very boring Xeno Blade runs rings round it tenfold even lost planet is better than Gaylo.

      3. I take it you’re playing Xenoblade X?XD

Anyways, my point stands; a first party for a first party, or no deal at all.
Minecraft is only first party through acquisition, not through creation, for Microsoft, so I don’t feel it counts as a fair trade.

  3. How about no, Microsoft claims to have the best game sin Xbox history with the Xbox One, how about you focus on making your own damn games, and not trying to snag old games from Nintendo’s past.

  4. I don’t care what ends up on Xbox one, but I wish we could arrange for it to go the other way around… at the very least, get us some Rare Replay. That’s all I want really. I just don’t want it enough to buy a whole system.

    1. Jaded Ridley X3 {I'm not whining, you suckers... *cough* ..poor souls! I've just been driven insane by Nintendo failing me one too many times this gen!}

Many games on Rare Replay were a big part of my childhood when playing N64, so sadly I am wanting it enough to buy a whole system for it. Of course, I’ll be waiting for the Xbone to be under 200 bucks someday, though. If that means 10 years from now, so be it. I’m actually a very patient man. But maybe I’ll get lucky & Rare Replay actually will be available on a Nintendo console some day so I won’t have to dip into my wallet for a 3rd home console this gen. Yeah… and Elvis, Bruce Lee, & a plethora of other awesome historical legends will come back to life with superpowers from a divine power & save our world from the shitstorm it’s in right now. *sigh*

Instead of waiting 10 years, put aside a bit of money every now and then.

        1. Jaded Ridley X3 {I'm not whining, you suckers... *cough* ..poor souls! I've just been driven insane by Nintendo failing me one too many times this gen!}

          Good idea!
