Online gaming publication Destructoid went on a search for Devil’s Third when it was released in the United States on Friday and were ultimately shocked at how difficult it was to find a copy of the action packed game. Reporter Jonathan Holmes says that Best Buy had no copies in stock for the entire district and there were scarcely any copies at the GameStop stores he visited. He contacted GameStop and was told that they had 420 copies of the game available for sale for the entire country! So if you managed to get a copy of the game on Friday keep hold of it as it may just become an extremely rare item.
I went to one Best Buy and three GameStop locations before I found a retail copy of Devil’s Third for sale. Best Buy had none in stock for the entire district, and only three GameStop stores in the state had copies of Devil’s Third available for customers who hand’t placed a pre-order. GameStop also let me know that, as far as they could tell, their online store only had 420 copies of the game available for sale for the entire country. Unless demand picks up and Nintendo of America issues a reprint, Devil’s Third may end up being one of the more rare games the publisher has ever released.
Welp. That’s interesting.
There’s a guy on Amazon selling it for $666.66 lmao. Clever.
ayy lmao
Your unoriginal comment is unfunny my friend
well at least you can always get a digital copy. its a shame this game was total crap. not surprising, he is a terrible director that makes really stupid choices. he always tries WAY to hard to be cool, but can figure out what “cool” is or how to make things work, or be fun.
Online mode is already starting to sound like shit. (Well, that is if it doesn’t have a downloadable purchase option.)
Wouldn’t be surprised if Itagaki made some claim that Gamestop didn’t look hard enough
#420 y’all
4:20 😹
well who needs anything more than 420
I had completely forgotten about this game. After I finish typing this post I will probably forget again…. Wait, what were we talking about?
We where talking abour!t Shantae confirmed for Smash 4
You’re serious?!

blaze it
Came here to post this.
Nintendo is having a habit of doing this…Fire Emblem Awakening was hard as shit to fined, some are having trouble finding Xenoblade Chronicles X, and then there is Amiibo’s of course…
From what has been said if you add it up there is only around 10,000 copies that’s rarer than any other mass produced game
This game’s hype died fast and turns out to be a crappy false message of the director’s self-loathing defense of the game. Many have completely forgotten about it.
then why are you and everyone here still talking about it two days after release?
This game is so much fun. I’m glad I purchased it. Nice gameplay. Story is 80’s style. Online is wonderful.
Yeah?? Hmm… I may still have an interest in it.
Well, it’s a good thing I got my hands on it then!
How are you liking it? Pro’s, cons?
Backlogged.
Ha. I hear that.
Ill get it for Christmas, busy with xenoblade right now….
Good luck
so youre telling me that nintendo wants third party support but once they get it they make no effort to promote it? bayonetta 2 barely got any promotion and now look at this
Yeah, I don’t know what the execs over at Nintendo are thinking. A 3rd Party for some reason decides to release a game on Nintendo’s console, and Nintendo ignores it. Nintendo themselves barely release games for their console these days. This is why my Wii U has unfortunately gotten almost no use this past year. Meanwhile my XB1 and PS4 libraries are flourishing.
It’s a first party game
Actually, Bayonetta was advertised in PlayBoy XD
Bayonetta 2 had tv commercial on adult swim in america.
here in the UK, we don’t see any ad for the wii U, so it’s hard to see nintendo supporting 3rd party developper. Studio wants to make sure their games (does not matter if you think the game is a lot of crap) to be advertised. MS and Sony go to great lenght to make sure you know what games are available on their system. I wonder how many know that you can play wonderful 101, bayonetta 2,rodea the sky soldier, rayman legends, the legend of kay, teslagrad, shovel knight, devil’s third and xenoblade chronicle????
Yeah I wouldn’t put xenoblade in that list of unknown game
Very true other than xenoblade unless you speaking of the first on. Xenoblade X is getting a lot of air time with commercials. Then again you did say UK so may not be getting a lot of air time there.
The game does not seem that bad. So why is so much working against it? Even at this point?

This is why I avoided this game because I knew they would pull some shit like this. Now everyone will be looking for the physical version of this game, and nintendo is going to do the same thing they did with those fucking amiibos. This type of business practice is retarded.
I was actually wanted to play this game. Oh well, I’ll give it a go when there’s a sale on it on the eShop.
*I actually wanted to play this game.
-_-
playasia still has us copies of this game as of 12/14/2015 9:38 am us eastern time, so if you want a physical copy of the NA Devil’s Third for the retail price I suggest you order right now.
I was able to get a copy, although I had preordered it, through Gamestop. What annoyed me was that the store had only received ONE copy of the game, which they decided to open and display on the shelf, not realizing, I suppose, that it was already claimed. So I got an opened, but new, copy. The game is really fun, and fairly well polished. It is extremely fast paced, and clearly designed for advanced gamers. The online modes do suffer from various technical glitches. I personally do not care to play online much, in general.
Is… is this serious? I know the game is getting a lot of crap thrown at it but good lord, NoA. Quit circle jerking your egos & actually do your damn job!
