US: Bayonetta 2 Is Incredibly Hard To Find At Retail

Live in the United States and hoping to get your hands on a shiny new copy of Bayonetta 2 at retail? Well, you may just have some trouble getting hold of it. Twinfinite is reporting that they have had trouble acquiring a new copy from various retailers such as GameStop and Amazon and have likened the situation to that which plagued Devil’s Third. Thankfully, both games are available via the eShop, but you’ll be playing a premium price.

  1. Hmm, that sucks. With the addition of her in Smash Bros, they should definitely put some more retail copies out in the wild.

  2. Europe be like “What’s the problem brah?” No seriously, you can order this game in most online stores. Haven’t seen Devils third much, but I’m also not looking for that. But I guess you could also find that prety fast…

  3. But wasn’t Devil’s Third hard to get because low critic scores resulted in a low print run and so was hard to find at launch?
As opposed to Bayonetta 2 being out for how long now? Over a year ago. And is now hard to find?
Why would they liken the two of these together?

Nintendo’s plan all along so you have no choice but to pay full price for these games on the eShop if you really want to play these games. BRILLIANT!!! Bayonetta is worth getting digitally, though. Devil’s Third, on the other hand, is best to rent first just in case it is crap. There is no way something gets worldwide hate or worldwide low scores for no reason at all, after all. Only an idiot would not be somewhat cautious.

I think so. I’m a huge fan of beat-em-ups and hack & slash games, though, so my opinion is a bit biased. But if you enjoy those types of games, too, then I highly suggest getting it.

      2. Mostly, they are “button mashers” – but damn they look great and are really fun. I can tell you I played them in Order, Bayo 1 first, and I’d recommend you do also, for the sake of the story. The WiiU release of Bayo1 is fantastic. I haven’t played the second one much yet, but if it’s as good as the first one, I’m sure I’ll be happy.

If you find the disk… I think it comes with both.

  5. well good thing i pre-ordered mine a few months before its release, granted it arrived in the mail about a week after, 10/30/14 to be exact is when it arrived. this is why you should buy certain games on day one before it becomes rare, unless you cant for some reason which then you are either s.o.l. or lucky and find one for cheap or sorta cheap like what happened to me with xenoblade, found a copy for $55, disk at the time was in mint condition, came with everything, box art, case, manual (this happened on november of 2013). to those who still want the retail copy, well good luck with finding one for under $60 and im not being sarcastic, you guys do need some good luck. speaking of i saw a copy on ebay for $30 back in early dec of 2015, dont know if its still available.

  6. I’ve bought the copy of Bayonetta 2… including the free original copy at launch. Day one, that is.

  7. PRE ORDERED MY PHYSICAL COPY AND DIDN’T EVEN TAKE THE DISK OUT, JUST TOOK THE PLASTIC OFF TO SEE IF THERE WAS TWO DISC INSIDE. NOW IT’S SITTING ON MY SHELF COLLECTING DUST AS I PLAY MY DIGITAL VERSIONS OF BAYONETTA 1 & 2, AND SHALL REMAIN THERE TO BE ADMIRED JUST LIKE MY RARE COPY OF GUILTY GEAR FOR PS1.

  8. After playing this game. I just knew her fucking juicy Bayobooty was about to be in smash. This game deserves to be fucking treated better than the treatment it’s getting now.

  9. to be honest I was planning to get the dual disc edition but waiting to buy and play xenoblade chronicle X first. If it become rare in US, this will not be long for Europe. Now I have to decide if I want the game soon or try my luck in the future when I think it the right time to buy it.

  10. My retailer is out of stock on the special edition, and it has stopped supplying Bayonetta 2 standard edition a while ago.
Retailer is giving delivery time of 2 weeks for special edition though, so I guess its available here in Europe.

  11. All retailers I’ve checked have stopped stocking the game and a gamestop employee told me they will not be getting any more in the future unless they are preowned games. People are buying them up like crazy just to sale for a big profit on ebay an amazon.
