I’m sure most of you aware that Monster Hunter is a massive franchise in Japan and has been making inroads in the west with the recent Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. It should come as no surprise then that Monster Hunter Online developer Tenent is currently considering a concert based on the Monster Hunter franchise featuring various pieces of music taken from the game. This is just something they are considering, but it could certainly be a success.
I’d go. The soundtracks of those games are superb.
I’ve only played Monster Hunter 3 and 4 Ultimate, and I went the extra mile by finding and obtaining every single piece of MH music that I could find.
I don’t blame you. Don’t know about 4, but MH3 has one hell of an OST.
I wonder if I’m the only one that’s noticed the main theme for Monster Hunter sounds similar to the Superman theme for the Christopher Reeve movies at certain points.
I can kinda see what you mean. The instrumentation is similar for sure.
It depends on two things: 1. Has there been a large amount of fans asking for such a thing? and 2. Can they even afford to do this considering they just recently pulled themselves out of a big gaping hole about a year or so ago?
Capcom has been doing fine for a while now. Their truly rough time was between the second half of 2012 and last year. I’m sure MH helped them quite a bit, so it’s not surprising that they’re willing to invest more on the franchise.
If the execution is on par with Nintendo’s orchestral endeavors, and they roll in a nice pile of merch, I am very much down it; though that being said I’d probably see it regardless of how it is lol.
Monster Hunter has some really great pieces! Looking forward to a release someday!
