Macronix International has revealed during its Fourth Quarter 2015 Results conference call that they will be providing memory products for the Nintendo NX which will be available this year. Details are scarce as the sites that have reported on the news are Taiwanese. Here’s what we know so far!
Japanese video game maker Nintendo will launch this year a new machine NX, Macronix (2337), general manager CY LU said Macronix will provide products to NX, NX and considerable expectations.

Never heard about them, and just took a look at their webpage. They have an interesting catalogue of all sorts of memories under their roof.
But, still… Rumors, rumors, rumors… Under the strict NDA Nintendo imposes to its partners, it is really hard to believe such a big company would shout “hey, World, we have a deal with Nintendo for the NX!”
That usually isn’t the kind of thing an NDA covers. THe NX has been confirmed as a console of some kind for the WiiU so memory, and the partnership of a 3rd party provider, is to be expected. There is no details beyond the working relationship, so it could very likely be true

Macronix is actually a very high end company. They mostly work on servers(Which means they’re one of the best) so I think we’re in good hands

I got the Wii U as a gift and still feel like it was a waste. Bayonetta 2 and Smash was what I wanted the most and neither came until two years later! Still no Zelda either!
Exactly why I’m not getting the NX day one.
Every console has a slow first year. Wii U had some pretty awesome games at the end of its first year though (Pikmin, Mario 3D World, Sonic, Wonderful 101).
And even better games at the end of its second year (DK, SMASH4, Bayo1/2, Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart).
Meanwhile I’m struggling to find good games for my PS4 aside from Bloodborne and Batman. I want to try Until Dawn, but that’s more of a movie than a game. Maybe Street Fighter/Dark Souls 3 will be good. Still, I’m unimpressed by this gen of consoles as a whole. The industry just isn’t what it used to be.

maybe every Wii U owner in China said that. oh and free online play… what a novelty! why not complain about the lack of chat (because sony ponies don’t have real life friends, just online chat friends) and make yourself sound sort-of relevant. more AAA exclusives than any other system. top selling system in japan. i don’t see a problem with anything except for Nintendo of North America and their horrible marketing and treating us like we are all watching Lambchop. no need to bash one of the most innovative companies in the world. looking forward to the Nintendo area at Universal Studios!!! Saving my money!!!!!
I don’t think I necessarily wasted my money, but I do feel like I would have been better off, buying the Wii U, when there were more games that I was interested in, rather than at Launch. In terms of buying a Console at Launch, I am One and Done.

Hopefully they not cheap with the gigs this time. It was quite stupid to think 8gigs would hold up for 5 years. I also hope they thinking of power while this NX is in R&D. It’s going to be risky and as soon as it is available Nintendo better be thinking about what Microsoft and Sony is going to do after they take the NX back in their R&D and take it apart to figure out what makes it tick. It better not just be just a little bit more powerful than the PS4 like they made the Wii U. It was quite stupid of Nintendo when they didnt see none of this when Project Café was in R&D. They also need to be thinking of a powerful and aggressive name this time.
I think it will be twice as powerful and be conmected with other devices.

Well i think the NX will share the same experience for the handheld and I can tell the NX might be more powerful and it will have portable devices in the machine.

The person that did the translation says it seems that the reporter is assuming the 2016 release and not the company.
