Bravely Second: Native American Character Has Been Redesigned To A Cowgirl

Bravely Second: The Ballad of the Three Cavaliers demo has gone out to certain shoppers at the Nintendo UK Store and there’s some apparent changes from the Japanese version. Aimee, who is the Native American character, has been redesigned to be a Cowgirl and she now features what is described as a “pretty bad” Southern drawl. If you shop at the Nintendo UK Store you may want to check your email to see if you got a code. However, if you haven’t, don’t fear! The Ballad of the Three Cavaliers demo will be available to everyone in Europe on February 11th. Here’s some impressions taken from NeoGAF

  • Agnes sounds kind of weird, is it the same VA?
  • The new town looks really nice, more detailed than the first game.
  • The Wizard and Astrologian don’t seem too unique at the moment.
  • Magnolia seems to be a fun character so far.
  • Also Aimee (the native american character) has been redesigned to a cowgirl as speculated from the fact the job costume was changed. She also has a (pretty bad IMO) southern drawl.

    I’m getting this game regardless, but does anyone agrees with me that Nintendo releases their games too close to each other? Its like i hardly have time to really enjoy a game b4 another one comes out, im playing the shit out of xcx and now a barrage of 3ds games are coming 😤😥😧

        I immediately thought of AoT when you said second season lol. I agree though; I think the gaps between games are big… especially with franchises that people really want more of like Metroid and Animal Crossing.

    Since cowboys are most often portrayed as enemies of “indians” (i.e. cowboys and indians), I would think that removing a Native American theme and replacing it with a cowboy theme would be more offensive to people than just keeping the original theme.

      If it came out in the U.S first; edea would be black, tiz would me hispanic and gay, agnes would be non binary, and ringable would be an ace who likes to flirt.

    Let’s not offend Native Americans by keeping in an outfit that is by no means how many Indians dressed back during the Wild West & how some still dress like that when celebrating their heritage. Oh wait! They did dress like that back in the day & do dress like that on occasion when celebrating their heritage today! The only people that ever get offended by this kind of stuff isn’t even the people these characters & objects are based on but people that don’t even belong to that group of people. Oh dear god! I insulted Native Americans by calling them Indians! Oh wait! A GOOD MAJORITY OF THEM DON’T CARE!!!

    That aside, why didn’t Squeenix originally put a cowboy & an indian into the game as an awesome duo that care heavily about each other to the point one would rather be dead with their partner than live without them like they did the Spiritmaster & Arcanist in the first place!? What a missed opportunity. Especially considering The Lone Ranger (shame it didn’t have an actual indian playing Tonto) most likely came out during this game’s development time.

      You’re right. We don’t care. lol
      In fact, it’s disappointing to NOT see an Indian represented in a game, considering the fact that it almost never happens.
      If anything, I’m offended over that.

      Only Tiz & Edea are returning as playable characters for Bravely Second.
