February 29, or leap day, is kind of a big deal – seeing as it comes only once every four years. Even Isabelle acknowledged the date in Animal Crossing: New Leaf upon greeting players signing into the game. It may not be groundbreaking, but it’s pretty neat nonetheless. The next leap year day won’t be until 2020. You never know; maybe we’ll get our hands on another Animal Crossing title by then.

It’s been so long since I logged in to New Leaf that I’m fairly sure all my citizens have starved to death. It’s a real shame I wasn’t there to shake down fruit from all the trees all over town. Alas, RIP World’s stupidest fully sentient forrest creature-people.
