According to a Twitter user who goes by the handle “Doctor_Cupcakes,” Nintendo is apparently planning to discuss the possibility of delaying the upcoming Wii U exclusive yet again. If this rumor turns out to be untrue, we’ll finally be able to get our hands on the game on April 22.
The decision of whether or not to release Star Fox Zero in April is apparently being discussed this Friday at NCL.

I just hope that maybe they don’t make either version have exclusive content for an NX version (maybe just the NX versions could have slightly enhanced visuals). It would alienate those who own a Wii U and would rather not shell out a decent amount of money to buy yet another Nintendo system.
You can´t port a game like Starfox Zero/Zelda U- which were made in 3/4 years each- made for 3 custom PowerPC-cores…in 6-12 months…You Need YEARS to port a game like that.
It would ONLY be possible to port a game in 6-12 months, if NX is not using ARM/x86, but still PowerPC.
But that would also mean that NX will have BC. And it would also mean it would be much more expensive…

I’ve personally never had a problem with the size of the text.
theres tiny non game play related things. in my opinion the text for the subtitles is fine, even necessary due to the audio mix being… well, somewhat under par. theres music playing over the dialog in cut scenes. it should have been mixed under the dialog, but with the subtitles youre not missing out on any information. its a minor thing. some of the music i find to be absolutely terrible but i bought the game for the game not the soundtrack so again, it gets a pass. ive played through the main story and enjoyed it all the way through. i hear theres concern among fans that the beginning drags on a bit but having never played any of the others in the series (i plan on doing so), i found it wasnt a problem. after the main story theres still tons to do. gear upgrades, skell upgrades, side missions, affinity stuff. it kinda stops being a game you finish and becomes more of a world you grow your character in. but if youre not really into that kind of thing or just have other games to play, i think theres enough hours of game play in the main story that you get your moneys worth.

That is assuming the NX comes out in a few months when with the very best estimates it might appear Q4 2016. Most likely will be more Q1 2017 but these decisions don’t get made last minute. They would have known this earlier and started making preparations a while back. That said even if it doesn’t make it at launch it would still easily make the Launch window.
most people think that delays are a bad thing, well take a look at street fighter v, ac unity and the master chief collection, both rushed and had other problems so i think a delayed game to polish and debugging is far better than a broken game with missing features and problems with the servers. if delaying starfox means them figuring out how to fix some of the issues they find then im more than happy to wait so please p+ and nintendo do not pull an ac unity or any other games that have been rushed.

What’s depressing about all this is the fact that the only reason we aren’t playing this game right now is due to a silly gimmick they just feel they have to push forward to prove a point with their failed gamepad. If they ditched all that dumb shit about cockpit views and dual rendering and the like, they could just use a standard control scheme and release the game looking and running even better with the extra overhead being lifted off the cpu. But no, you just have to prove that you didn’t fuck up with the gamepad. It’s too late. Let it go and give me my damn games. We got off-tv play. That’s enough. You’ve done enough. For me Off-TV Play isn`t “Innovation”. That is just…well, optional you know? Not every game supports that. And guess what? Starfox Zero is not going to have OffTV. Just like coming Zelda U won`t Support OffTV!

I think the gamepad is a neat concept and I’m looking forward to trying it out on my first run of the game. But Starfox games have a lot of replay value for me and I hope we have the option to use the pro controller because that’s how I’ve always preferred to play Starfox games.

You misunderstood me. I was implying that there are games that were made 10 years ago that look better than Starfox. Visually, Starfox looks disappointing is what I was getting at with that comment. When you look at games like Star Wars Battlefront or Halo 5, Starfox clearly isn’t up to par with the games of this generation.

It’s not the fur that makes the game look bad. And for the record, DK Tropical Freeze has great fur textures and the game looks great! I would say that the fur is about the only thing that looks good in the game. For a sci-fi game, everything looks flat and the textures are very bland and almost look low-res. Go check out some fighter squadron gameplay from Star Wars Battlefront, that’s how a current gen sci-fi game should look like!

It looked fine when we saw it for a whole 20 seconds early in its build during the first reveal. Then the usual idiots jumped to conclusions and wrote the game off per usual. Then, it was shown again but this time looking much more polished with still 4 months till release. Now that is has been given a few more months there’s no reason to be concerned. Nintendo delivers on their main IPs 9/10 times. Of course even if they do, the morons who have been claiming it sucks will dig in their heals and refuse to acknowledge how nice it is and we’ll have a back and forth on here with them calling us fanboys, us calling them trolls. It will be good times. Jose Otero will irrationally give it a low score so he doesn’t seem like the Nintendo fanboy he is, to his dudebro peers at IGN. We’ll flood his review and lambaste him for the fraud he is. While the trolls are sticking to their hatred the rest of us will be playing and loving this game. It won’t sell well so it will become a collector’s item.

The horrible problem with this game, as it appears from my perspective, is that Nintendo and Platinum approached this project in a very non-nintendo way.
GREAT Nintendo games come from building Incredibly Fun and Intuitive Gameplay mechanics and Controls FIRST … and only later, making up a narritive excuse for why you are doing all these strange things by saying it is to save a Princess, or the World, or the Whole Galaxy, and slap a Coat of Mario, Zelda, Metroid or if they are feeling creative, a New IP like Splatoon, Paint on to it, and it becomes a Game.
Instead, someone wrote a manifesto that said to Make a Starfox Game that looks and plays like Starfox 64, only using the Gamepad in a way that would not work on any other control method … and in spite of proving it doesn’t work, and isn’t actually fun for over a year now, they refuse to admit that was a bad idea and are wasting their time trying to make a sucky, bad idea, suck just a little bit less.
Come On Nintendo … you know better. Just Release the bad game, apologise, and promise to do better next time. Or, even don’t release it at all.
