This week’s Media Create software and hardware charts are now in from Japan. It has been a slightly better week for the Wii U this week with hardware sales up somewhat and Splatoon back in the top ten. However, it’s the New Nintendo 3DS which is finding it harder to compete against the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita recently, though admittedly there’s not much in it. Nothing. It has always sold well in Japan. Sometimes it just sells better than the norm because of certain games. Japan is the only place it’s essentially not dead.

If Nintendo loses it’s edge on handhelds, they will be really hurting.
I enjoy my N3DS, but Nintendo hardware is slowly becoming a joke again. They will wait until they are so outdated that their new hardware just keeps pace with what’s out on the market already… IDK., I find the 3DS sales as a symptom of larger issues.

That depends, do you know somebody who works on an industry and knows how much can this kind of things work or affect sales? because if the answer is no then the shortage is the only thing that can be truly blamed, or if you want to go further, blame NIntendo for not making too many consoles.
I don’t need to specifically know someone in the industry to theorize that Nintendo holds back on their supply at times on purpose.
