Mario Super Sluggers Coming To The NA Virtual Console Tomorrow

The Super Mario baseball title, Mario Super Sluggers, is coming to the North American Wii U Virtual console tomorrow for $19.99. The title originally debuted on the Wii in 2008 and was developed by Namco Bandai. You can play with up to 1-3 other players, practice your skills in ‘practice’ mode, or try out the challenge mode where you can unlock additional characters and stadiums.

  1. Nintendo Sub-Commander Cereza

Anyone else remember the Mario sports games on the N64? And how they added Human characters that were in no way related to the Mario series? It is that randomness that made those games appealing. I’m interested in Mario Strikers, but none of the sports games of late seem worth it. I am not spending more than $20 on Mario Tennis. I’m surprised it wasn’t on the Nintendo selects program.

    1. You talking about Mario Golf? Yeah, that had several non-Nintendo characters (such as Plum). I LOVED Mario Golf on N64. Greatest golf game EVER! None has surpassed it’s greatness ever since. Not even Toadstool Tour (because it removed mini-golf).

  2. Am I the only one noticing the Gamecube games skipping Wii U? I wonder why…too weak to handle Wii and gamecube tittles at the same time perhaps? Will nintendo was stupid in making Project Café spec decision in 2008.
