Unofficial data source VGChartz is reporting that Bayonetta 2 has sold over one million units since it launched back in September 2014. The game launched to critical acclaim and topped a number of end of year lists for the best video game of 2014. Bayonetta 2 is fairly cheap now so if you haven’t already picked it up I’d highly recommend doing so.
Update: It would seem as though VGChartz were wrong and the game only sold 750.302 globally.

Also imagine how well it would’ve sold had Nintendo put some heavy marketing and advertsing behind it like they did with Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros and Splatoon. Bayonetta 2 would probably be well over 4 million by now but congratulations to Platinum Games for an amazingly well crafted game. What’s next? Bayonetta 3 on the NX? Hmm…sounds good to me
True it should have been advertised more. Such a fantastic game. Platinum did not disappoint. Hopefully we see it on NX. It would be a great launch title.

Please, no. The console exclusivity war is already bad enough as it is. It’s understandable why Bayonetta 2 was a Wii U exclusive because Nintendo published it, but there is no denying that a lot of gamers on other consoles and PC were hurt by that move.

Truthfully speaking though, For a game of it’s caliber it deserved better.
Bayonetta 2 is the best 3D action game I’ve ever played. A million units is good, but man… more people need to experience this amazing game.
i never finished the first and havent touched the second and i bought it on day one. need to go back and finish before moving to the second. also i dont regret buying it on day one.
