Game Freak’s latest title, Pocket Card Jockey, released worldwide yesterday on the Nintendo 3DS. The title is a mash up between Solitaire and horse racing and puts the player in the position of a bad jockey who eventually wants to win the derby.
As GameXplain have presented in their new clip, there are several Pokemon, Pulse Man, Drill Dozer, and even President Obama references within the title. Some obvious references to Pokemon include the “Gotta Get ‘Em All!” quote when you win a trophy, in reference to the Pokemon slogan “Gotta Catch ‘Em All!”, and a horse in the line-up named “PikaPika Mouse”.
There’s also a horse named “Pulse Hero” which is likely to be a reference to Game Freak’s Japanese only release Pulse Man, and one named “No We Can’t” which as GameXplain point out, could be a parody of President Obama’s slogan “Yes we can”.
Check out the clip below:
This is why GameFreak’s biggest success is Pokemon because most of everything else they release is just shovelware.
Actually, it’s a very fun game. It’s quite addicting. Plus they haven’t released a lot of games other then Pokemon, they do have a quality standard to uphold.
