Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars will be hitting the North American Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow. The game will be available for $7.99. The games overview on Nintendo’s site says that “a mysterious enemy named Smithy has appeared, forcing Mario and Bowser to fight as allies. Journey across a wide variety of locations and tackle a mixture of obstacles that will require both timing and strategy to overcome. Gain experience, grow more powerful, and meet new characters to use their abilities in taking down Smithy and his gang”!

I don’t get why people wanted Geno or actually thought he stood a chance in the ballot.
Why wouldn’t he? Cloud made it in and Square Enix owns the rights to both of them. Heck, Geno even had a Mii costume.
Because he’s a pure one-off. Hell, he’s lucky to even get a mii costume. But someone like K Rool got it too so it isn’t special. Geno is nowhere near good enough to be a playable character. It’s the basic truth.
What qualifies as “good”?
Known worldwide and actually has an appearance in more than one game. Every character in Smash has an legit reason behind them. Geno doesn’t. If Geno was the main character of Super Mario RPG that’s a different story. But he isn’t.

He did because he played the role as “ad from an upcoming game”. Fates was in the right spot quoted from Source Gaming.

Duck Hunt Dog is actually popular and known. Much more than Geno.

Barely anyone actually cares about Geno, He’s just like King K Rool. Stop acting like he could’ve made it in. Now keep quiet and embrace your costume. Be glad he’s even in this game at all!

Invalid, Japanese requested them in and it wasn’t a small amount. More like the entire Melee community which had an effect since Brawl didn’t exist years after Melee. Imao, looks like the Smash fanbase has a thing for japanese exclusives.

Roy became a favorite and barely had enough demand to return as the Melee part of the DLC
Lucas is an fan favorite from Brawl and had enough demand to return as Brawl DLC.
Now Takamaru, a japanese exclusive is starting to get more demand who got the boot as an Assist instead of a playable character in favor of Duck Hunt. This is coming full circle.

Finally, I got this game so long ago back when Club Nintendo had it, and I was planning on transferring it over to my Wii U when it was available… It’s been, what, seven or eight months since Club Nintendo had it? I thought this would have been added much sooner, considering when Japan got it.
Thanks to Nintendo and Square Enix. Reunited… and it feels so good!
They are not truly reunited til we get a Super Mario RPG 2 from them!
We do not need a SMRPG2. Just Square Enix even GIVING something speaks for itself.
Nintendo is absolutely garbage at putting their games on their virtual console service. I don’t even want a VC on the NX unless they actually try. They’re doing worse with the WiiU than they did with the Wii. Unacceptable.
Frankly, it’s just NoA that’s really sucking at VC releases. The Japanese and European VC divisions are leagues ahead of the North American one.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: NoA needs major housecleaning in all areas, up to and including Reggie.

Anyway, watch Super Mario RPG hit the n3DS’s VC at some point. Nintendo really should have implemented cross save & cross buy so we don’t have to pay multiple times for the same exact game for multiple consoles. But I guess they’d rather weasel more money out of people’s pockets instead. -.- Speaking of, if Paper Mario is never going to be a true RPG again and I don’t really care much for the Mario & Luigi series because they come off way more kid friendly than the first two Paper Mario games, can we please get Super Mario RPG 2! I miss having partners besides just Luigi.
