Japan: Nintendo 3DS Sells 31K And Wii U Sells 4K

This week’s Japanese sales charts are now in thanks to the team over at Media Create. It’s been a good week for the Nintendo 3DS which has easily beaten the competition and comfortably sits at the number one spot. The sales boost has been helped by the release of Etrian Odyssey V: The End of the Long Myth and Dragon Ball: Fusions which entered at number one and number two respectively.

  1. Holiday on next week should be interesting to see if anything increase during Obon. Hopefully PS4 shortages don’t hurt PS4 numbers that much.

  2. I was complaining for months about not being able to play my Wii U because of needing an external hard drive. I finally got one a few months ago, but still can’t bring myself to play my several un-played Wii U games. Well, I was playing Super Mario 3D World. And I made it all the way to Bowser’s world. BUT…….I wasn’t having very much fun that whole time. I literally felt like I was having to force myself to keep playing.

I don’t know if playing all of those Mature rated games on PS3 and PS4 corrupted me or what? But I’m just not feeling it for Nintendo lately. At least, not with the Wii U. I still LOVE Nintendo, and I’m very excited about the NX and Zelda etc. And I’m still collecting Nintendo games like a person stocking up on canned goods to prepare for a natural disaster. But man, I just don’t know what happened to me? I haven’t been very happy lately. I always feel surprised when I see that the Wii U is still selling ANYTHING.

I felt exactly the same way about 3D land on the 3DS. Even with all the praise it was getting, I wasn’t having any fun at all. Mario is too slow. And the levels are easy. Most of the fun comes from playing with friends as old as you. Playing together is classic Nintendo fun. You aren’t going to Navy any fun forcing yourself to play something to the end. Except Darksiders. I really hated the entire beginning of that game. Until I realized it was a reduced fat Zelda game where they get rid of the overworld in favor of more dungeons

      1. I am really sorry you did not like darksiders 1 or 2 cause I do believe they are really good games. If you really did not like it there is nothing else I can’t say cause personal taste cannot be argue. It just a shame cause I think the game deserve more praise.

While I didn’t like the game at first, it really grew on to me. Comparing it to Zelda was a compliment. Getting straight to the dungeons without having to deal with over world story was a compliment.

    2. It was the other way for me. I feel like they crafted the game carefully and all those new inclusions (cherry power, cat power, Zelda Nes inspired level, Mario Kart inspired level…) made the game better.

  3. well the wii u is still selling despite being abandoned by Nintendo. I guess Zelda will close the Wii U and start the NX generation….. But I will be still saving my money to buy games like bayonetta 1 and 2 (I just finished the 1st game on PS3) and wonderful 101

  4. And this is why the NX will probably get pushed as a handheld instead of a home console. 3DS sells like fucking heroine to a rich drug addict. “You mean we have customers outside of just Japan? Fuck ’em! Sony might be willing to give equal treatment to both their West & East customers, but we want to be “different” from the others!”

      ||I don’t care what High Command makes, as long as they make true powerful games as they should be at their core like Breath of the Wild is, then bring it…||
