Nordic Games Is Now THQ Nordic

Nordic Games, the studio bringing Wii U owners Darksiders: Warmasted Edition, is now THQ Nordic. THQ went under a while back, but Nordic Games has acquired the rights to THQ’s library of titles and is now called THQ Nordic. The company says that they have 23 game project currently in development. Let’s hope they resurrect a number of key THQ titles including De Blob.

“With this rebrand we are entering the next phase in our company’s evolution. As of now we have 23 game projects in development, 13 thereof have not yet been publicly announced, but are sure to be in the next months. Needless to say, the majority of these projects are based on former THQ owned IPs and franchises.”

    1. You damn right it is because unlike a lot of 3rd parties out there they support all home gaming platforms. Thank God they’ve acquired THQ’s rights and not some greedy ass bias company like EA or Bethesda

    2. Yeah, THQ’s WWE games used to be AWESOME! Well, at least Smackdown Shut Your Mouth on PS2, and Day Of Reckoning 1 and 2 on Gamecube. The Smackdown Vs Raw games (in my opinion) is where they started going downhill. Each one seemed to get worse. Until, I believe it was Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 on Wii. Which was so bad that I bought very little WWE games after that (and even stopped watching it on tv). I didn’t play another good WWE game until WWE 2K14 on PS3. But even that (aside from the custom soundtracks, which makes a world of difference) still wasn’t as good as the others I mentioned.

  2. I always thought of Nordic games as THQ after they got the rights to Darksiders and now I can officially say this, THQ will soon create Darksiders 3:D
A list of sequels I would love to see from these franchises are…
    Titan Quest
    Darksiders
    Red Faction
    Destroy All Humans!
    Deadly Creatures
    Summoner
    De Blob

  3. Bandai Namco, Koei Tecmo, & now THQ Nordic. They should call themselves Nordic THQ, though. It rolls off the tongue better.

    1. In other words, you want a game for each of the 4 Horsemen where the final game has them all come together to fight the big evil of the franchise, right? While that would be nice, I’m worried they’ll just make 2 more games: one where the other 2 horseman share a game & the final one where they all come together. Or worse case scenario, the other two horsemen don’t get a game at all & the 3rd one wraps it all up with the other two taking a backseat to War & Death.

Anyway, let’s hope it’s 3 more games, like you want, and that my fears are unfounded.
