The team over at Platinum Games have taken to their blog to discuss a number of things Bayonetta 2 related. We’re coming up to Bayonetta 2’s second anniversary and to celebrate the occasion they have broken the silence regarding the Bayonetta amiibo figure.
I’m afraid that this little taste is all I can give you right now, since we’re still working hard to get her just right. But I assure you that we’re going to capture everything you know and love about Bayonetta – every detail down to the exact sizes of her glasses and eyes – and bring you an amiibo that’ll meet your every expectation.
Back when we were making Bayonetta 2, there wasn’t any talk of bringing the game to life in three dimensions like this. In fact, this is the first time a character from a game I’ve directed has been made into a figure. I’m shocked by how well Bayonetta’s essence has been shrunk down to fit in the palm of your hand! What an amazing era…
I’m really looking forward to the full unveiling of the Bayonetta amiibo, and I hope you’re as excited as I am.

about time, i was beginning to wonder if nintendo forgot about the remaining smash bros amiibos, well i could care less about corrin, only interested in cloud and bayonetta.
I dunno…. Getting Corrin for the sake of completion is satisfying.
Bayonetta with her Bayonetta 2 design? Hell yeah! As for Cloud, I’m not nearly as excited for him since it’s just his FFVII design as I’d prefer his Advent Children design.
I much prefer the long hair, some girls look good with short hair but bayo nah in my opinion 😋
I like long hair, too, but that mountain of hair on her head. lol
I like the mountain hahaha but I can see why not everyone would. To me though it’s her own look, the new look is not much different than what a lot of girls do with short hair, so the mountain just feels more like her own personal style.

The Cloud amiibo figure is coming alongside Corrin AND Bayonetta.
I’ve been wondering all this time where the Bayonetta, Cloud and Corrin amiibo were? They should have already been released long ago. But with all the other series of amiibo just around the corner, I can wait. My wallet is nervously shaking.
Not really. It took a long ass time for Roy and Ryu to release. Bayonetta, Cloud and Corrin are not special snowflakes. Sorry.

Let’s hope they are working in bayonetta 3 for NX or at least a bayonetta 2: ultimate Hybrid edition port for NX with amiibo functionality. The mega popular bayonetta has been proved to be like by most of Nintendo fans thanks to super smash bros……………………………………………………………………………..smh
Now THAT, Paid, is the ultimate MUST-HAVE for the Nintendo NX. Imagine playing Bayonetta 2 in HD (NX handheld/gamepad) and Full HD (NX Home) and it’s compatible with amiibo via Near Field Communication!!!!

Either way I’ll be buying Bayonetta and Cloud for sure. Though I’m still sad Roy and Ryu never got Super Mario Maker costumes. It’s like they got too busy to keep up with that.

I was expecting one for SMM’s one year anniversary- no idea what it would have been though, just *something*.
I believe Ryu and Roy were not added to SMM both because of how late into the game’s production cycle they were revealed for Smash and, at least in Ryu’s case, more licensing talks between Capcom and Nintendo. (Also curious is that the Mii Fighter amiibo don’t work in Maker at all, though that’s a subject for a different time). Purely speculation, but it’s all we have.
Considering the other characters not owned by Nintendo popping into Super Mario Maker, I don’t see why they should hold back on getting Ryu to work with the game just because it’d involve more talk with Capcom.
Now that I think about it. I think because of the Wii U being officially left behind stuff like Splatoon, Smash Patches and now Mario Maker ceased production.
Fun while it lasted I guess.
