A recent survey in Japanese publication Famitsu asked gamers in Japan who their favourite video game developers are. 893 people (632 males, 261 females) voted from ages 10 – 49 who play games on video game consoles. Numbers inside () are voted from people who don’t actually play video games. As you would expect, Nintendo is the number one developer, but strangely Platinum Games are missing from the entire top twenty.

They should do a poll on how many people want to play Nintendo games but have no new games to play. And how many people love waiting 2 years to find out what their next console is.

And yet PS4 killed the Wii U in sales. That’s kind of weird. Then again PS4 has a lot of these third party developers, so maybe it isn’t that weird.
Actually according to this the Wii U sold more in Japan but the 3DS still crushed everything.

The numbers are so close anyway it hardly matters. All we have to know is that Japan belongs to the 3DS and handhelds in general.

Good. They separated the opinions of people that don’t matter from the people that do matter. If you don’t actually play games, you shouldn’t really be listened to when saying who you like & who you don’t like. So why were these people even quizzed to begin with? *shrug* Meh…
I’m actually surprised to see Atlus outside the Top 10. I figured they’d be pretty revered in Japan.
Guess it says a lot about Konami that they can stay high up despite constantly shooting themselves in the foot.
if i had to vote on my favorite games, i would go with Nintendo,Sega and Electronic Arts.
Why is it surprising Platinum aren’t on the list? Bayonetta wasn’t even one of the top voted Smash Bros characters in Japan. They aren’t going to like a company if they don’t even like said company’s mascot.
