Wall Street Journal technology reporter Takashi Mochizuki has stated on Twitter that he believes Nintendo will share the NX announcement details sometime in the coming week. However, Nintendo has yet to mention when we can expect a Nintendo NX reveal so we shall just have to wait and see if any information comes this week.
Speculation is Nintendo would unveil NX details in coming week. I guess all we can do is just wait. No announcement from company yet.

They were right about Nintendo ceasing Wii U production this year. So this could be possible. That said, I think only the announcement of the event will happen. I don’t think the event itself will happen for at least a couple more weeks. If not later next month a to not overshadow Pokemon Sun and Moon. You’d think they’d want to wait till their last big 2016 release is out before talking about the NX.
Though guess we’ll see in time. Either way this is a rumor I can sort of see having some credibility to it.
Pokemon Black & White did just fine with the 3DS coming out.
Exceptionally well. I think that is the only Pokemon gen that I have played all versions of. Black/White & Black 2/White 2 were just too doggone good!

Wrong. There are no plans to cease production of Wii U until at least 2018 and even that’s only speculation. Nintendo have clearly stated that codename NX will not be a direct successor to the Wii U which means they don’t regard the two pieces of hardware even in the same category. The NX is a new Concept/hybrid device. This means they still have plans for Wii U for the time being. What that will actually mean for the fate of WII U remains to be seen but you would image if the NX is a success they would gradually wind Wii U down.
Nintendo knows that they have to be smart business wise when it comes to decisions they make after recent years failings. Despite those feelings the Wii U still has a 13 million user base and have sold 88 million software units. The Wii U is actually becoming quite a hallowed and sought-after piece of hardware so if there’s any profit left to squeeze out of the machine be sure that nintendo will capitalise on it while it can.
As for this latest rumour my advice consists of three words

And yet Nintendo has no more games planned for Wii U (that we know of) aside from Breath of the Wild, which isn’t even exclusive anymore since it’s planned as an NX launch title now too. If that’s Nintendo’s idea of supporting the Wii U until 2018, that’s a bad sign.
Unless their idea of supporting the console is just keeping its online services up until then for the eShop, apps, and games like Splatoon and Smash, which still isn’t great.

Your fan base will still beg for ports of console games though. It may be inferior (or not) but it will still have better games and exclusive’s without as many glitches as pc.

PC’s can work for casuals, but it can still take a bit of a loop to understand. It doesn’t work exactly like a console. A console is pretty straightforward. You buy it to play games. And the games are set up exactly the same way for everyone. The casuals have no idea how it’s running or what settings it’s on and they really couldn’t care less as long as it’s playable for them. If every PC were this way, they’d gladly play games on there and I’m sure there’d be way more gamers considering how many people use a PC. But if you expect to play anything on a PC aside from online flash games or something, you’re going to need to understand the technical stuff. It isn’t really that difficult, but someone that’s used to playing consoles and having everything already done for them and set up, they’re going to wonder why they should spend extra time learning that stuff when they’d rather just get to the game.

Everyone is going to keep on guessing next week, and if there’s no announcement next week they’ll jump towards the next. It’s pretty much the only thing game sites can do if Nintendo won’t say anything about the system.

Well, there probably won’t be many games since not many people know how it works. Even if there are games it’s hard to imagine too many of them using the gimmick (if there is one). Nintendo will have to carry this for some time before it picks up. Probably not a smart thing to buy right out of the gate. I know the WIi U never ending up getting a price cut (in 4 years) but I would imagine a new console just might in a year or 2. Can anyone else think of a product that hasn’t improved and hasn’t come down in price in 4 years?
