Video: Here’s The Dragon Quest VIII Trailer

We found out late last week that Dragon Quest VIII is finally coming to North America and Europe on January 20th. To celebrate the occasion, Nintendo of America uploaded a brand new trailer complete with British voice acting.

Uncover the story of the Cursed King as you save the world from a twisted magician in this genre-defining role-playing game. Across the vast world you’ll wage turn-based battles against more than 250 monsters designed by artist Akira Toriyama. This updated classic also includes new dungeons, bosses, items, quests, scenes, and a new possible ending.

  1. Not really looking forward to this since finding out they removed the orchestral soundtrack. That’s quite a shame, since I otherwise like the changes they’ve made (getting rid of random encounters & allowing you to speed up animations). I really dislike the original Japanese soundtrack, though.

    1. Can you even tell the difference on the 3ds speakers? That really doesn’t concern me near as much as only “certain areas” being playable in 3d. The entire game should be 3d, just like DQVII…

  2. Really looking forward to it, have played all the Dragon Quest games it looks to be the best yet, not long to wait x

    1. It’s one of the best. Of course everyone’s opinion is different. I personally like Dragon Warrior 3 the best, followed by Dragon Warrior 4, and then DQVIII. The only one I haven’t played is DQV which I actually heard is one of the best in the series. I’ll play it next before I replay VIII.

  3. Speed animation first inclusion was in Bravely Default right? No wonder they do this in this game. I hope to try out these games. Are they similar to JRPG games like Final Fantasy 3 remake of DS? I like that and the Bravely 1st and 2nd game.

  4. Jessica’s voice actress would have a posh accent. :/ Wait a tick! Is that… Clara? Clara Oswald!? Of Doctor Who? The hot British actress that also voiced Melia of Xenoblade Chronicles!? *gasp & goes to check* Damn. Nope. Not her. Sounds almost identical, though.

  5. i’m excited for this and i hear fiora from xenoblade as the sexy Jessica which is even better in my book as for the orchestrated you know how japanese are with their music very stingy
