Electronic Arts Chief Competition Officer Peter Moore has talked at the Credit Suisse 2016 Annual Technology Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, about a number of things including the company’s relationship with Nintendo. Moore says that they’re huge fans of Nintendo and have a game in development for the upcoming Nintendo Switch platform. It would seem as though EA is taking a wait and see approach with the platform coming off the back of the Wii U.
“Nintendo has always been and will always be a very important partner in this industry. They have some of the best first party development studios in the world, and some of the most valuable intellectual properties in the world. We have announced publicly that we got a partnership with them on their new platform, the Switch, we haven’t talked in detail on what’s that about. You can imagine, as you heard, that a major game will be distributed on that platform.
We’re huge fans. We have a relationship that goes many decades back. They’ve had some difficult times as if recently obviously, but never, ever, ever discount Nintendo in this marketplace, and their ability to leverage their superb game development opportunities. Their intellectual properties, whether it’s Mario, whether it’s Zelda, whether it’s Metroid Prime, we could go on forever about what they can do… obviously Pokémon, we’ve seen more recently.
We’re gonna watch with interest and you can rest assured that EA, just like every major publisher, is in regular conversations with Nintendo.”
What a nice compliment. How about a rad game to go along with it.
“A” game? How about many of the ones you’re working on?
Wow! A “whole” game! That’s some good support there. It’s prob a shitty game knowing them.
Yeah a shitty full of bugs game. Hope not, but if they make fifa I’ll maybe get it used or when the price drops.
I bet it’s FIFA
Dance, Soccer, or something crappy like that. If they want to show support, they need to develop something Unique and nothing ported, something that just stay on Switch for years to come. Hope they understand that. Those in EA’s are liers.
That would be extremely stupid on their part. If Nintendo wants exclusives they need to work on them and not have fans blaming developer for not bringing games to a console they don’t have faith in.
I still think that EA will put at least two games on the Switch at launch. My bets are FIFA ’17 and Star Wars Battlefront or Mass Effect Andromeda. Other honorable mentions are Titanfall 2 with the first Titanfall game included, Plants vs. Zombies 2: Garden Warfare & The Sims 4
I hope your right. I think the best foot forward would be Fifa and Star Wars Battlefront. A well known sports title, and an Star Wars focused FPS would be a great way for them to re introduce themselves to the Nintendo fanbase.
confirmed mass effect andromeda not even coming to the switch
||*Bruh/Broh/Brah…||
My hope is that it’s Plants Vs Zombies 2: Garden Wafare.. that game alone just SCREAMS Nintendo to me for some reason.
||If it has anything to do with EA Sports then keep that rubbish away…||
Hear hear!
What are you talking about Bruh, Madden is there best football game ever
EA are huge fans of Nintendo? Oh that’s complete bull. They weren’t big enough to actually try putting out more of their games on 3DS or Wii U, -_-
I can understand the Wii U since nobody liked that thing lol but 3ds there’s no excuses
Yeah. Maybe if they hadn’t pulled support from Wii U within the first six fucking months, maybe, just maybe, Wii U wouldn’t have been in the predicament it’s in now. While this doesn’t absolve Nintendo of their own fuck ups with the U, EA is still one of the big reasons the Wii U failed in my honest opinion.
Unless its a new game, idc..
well I don’t know what they are planning but I’m pretty sure its gonna be good.
If the Switch is going to be a huge success, Nintendo should make EA pay to be allowed to develop games for it.
Why? It’s not like EA is gonna die without Nintendo. Lol. They skipped Wii U. They can do it again with Switch.
Dude don’t write a book about it… I wasn’t serious!
… He used less words than you though…
This is the internet dude, EVERYTHING is facts.
Thats a fact.
^Star Wars is unnlikely considering Battlefront 2 is under development?
Did you actually count the words?
Darthchrisb = 23
Hollow =22
His math adds up dude.
fucking hypocrites…..yeah I hate to say it but I’m glad they are on board with the NS, even thought they are shitty company. ..just port your sports games and the NS willl be fine with your support…if you can port mass effect than ok…
Fuck you if it is madden or fifa..or worse nba live.
If it’s anything related to sports, I won’t care anything about it.
I’m sorry. I laughed at the part of EA being fans of Nintendo. They sure didn’t act that way after Nintendo chose not to use Origin for its online service. I can’t trust EA anymore
being fans doesn’t mean you bring games to console you don’t have confidence in and are terrible to develop on. Just cause you are a fan of something doesn’t mean you accept every moe they make.
Love it or hate it, but Fifa and Madden games annually means that a console has hit the mainstream. Nintendo needs a platform that draws the generic multiplats as well as unique exclusives and first-party content. It’s just the sign of a healthy gaming ecosystem – choices.
Eh, whatevez.
I’m not worried about it, until Nintendo drop’s the bomb this is all moot.
Titanfall 2 would be awesome, but I seriously doubt it. Probably Fifa.
lol this hole thing is a joak it’s the same cumpney who said Nintendo should get out of the game f EA i have not bought a thing frome them that was not used frome them sence
I will bet my life savings that it’s game no one asked for.
I call bullshit. Nintendo, EA, & Ubisoft all three are to blame for the Wii U floundering. Nintendo for obvious reasons. EA for pulling support after only 6 fucking months because their precious Origin wasn’t shoved into the Wii U’s architecture, cutting EA off from making money off of every Wii U sold. And Ubisoft for barely supporting the Wii U after EA took off. Sure they supported Wii U the best of anyone else but they half assed it most of the time. Rayman was held back so they could do a simultaneous release for some fucking reason which did Sony nor Microsoft any favors anyway since the game still sold the best on Wii U. Then a year later, when they had the chance to pay Nintendo & the customer base back for the bullshit they pulled with Rayman by holding Watch Dogs on other platforms back, they fucking didn’t. They delayed the Wii U version so they could get the game out on the other consoles first! Yeah. Support with a bit of BACK STABBING thrown in! Thanks a lot, Ubishit! (I haven’t used that insult in awhile! lol)
*huff, huff* It’s all good, though. They’ve all seemed to have suffered in some way for the bullshit they pulled with Wii U. Nintendo suffered the most, though, but oh well. Hopefully it was a nice little wake up call for Nintendo. We’ll see soon enough.
