    1. I’ve seen a ton of mixed reviews. Have you played Over watch? I was torn and got recore on sale for $20,so far I’m happy with my decision!

      1. I think it’s really fun, it’s online multiplayer only though, so if you’re looking for a campaign or story mode you’ll be disappointed. Also, if you’re looking for local split screen multiplayer you will also be disappointed. I tried it out for a free weekend trial they had and got hooked.

        1. Ah, thank you. I really do enjoy the single player campaigns. I suppose when I’m up for some online and get a deal on the game I may check it out. Thanks again!

          1. I do feel like there will be some update in the future for a story campaign. With all the different very unique characters that you can use there is potential for an epic story. They already have some lengthy clips online that focus on different characters and they are pretty awesome, I hope we get a full story mode soon.

  2. I got Doom for $20 on black Friday, it’s got enough blood and gore to quench a wolf’s thirst. I don’t know about best action game, but it’s pretty fun.

I’m sad to not have seen Recore on the list… I know it didn’t get polished as it should have, but I am very much enjoying it. Especially knowing the makers of Metroid Prime were involved, and having a loyal familiar tagging along, it’s just a lot of fun. I’ve only logged probably 6 hours, but yeah, With a little more Polish, it could have made this list.

    1. I picked up everything but ReCore because I hadn’t heard any positive reviews. You’re making me wish I got it though lol. Enjoying the stuff i did buy and I haven’t even gotten to half of those games yet (still playing Watch Dogs 2 😅) but I may have to buy ReCore at regular price if it’s fun like you’re saying it is.

      1. The only review that worries me is someone said there is an impossible boss 12 hours in. Otherwise, I really enjoy collecting blueprints, parts and cores to upgrade my dog. My brother watched me play a little when we got together this evening. He wished he got it also for $20.

To be safe, maybe wait for the disk to go on sale again. It’s not Christmas yet. There are bound to be more sales! When I get a bit more time in, I’ll try to mention it again and see if the impossible boss exists. ;D

      2. Also, for game-runners, I guess it’s considered short. IDK. I’m hoping to get 15-20 hrs out of it, but I tend to explore the hell out of things and take my time. I’d believe someone blasting through probably could beat it in 12. I’d hate for you to not get $40 out of it, But I can say I’m absolutely feeling good and having fun for $20!

    1. Well, Nintendo hasn’t released many games this past year (or at least any that would really fit into these categories) so I’m not really surprised.

  3. Funny that No Man’s Sky was awarded for being the most anticipated game of 2016 at last year’s Game Awards.

And now this year, it got zero mention. That just shows that the game is pure garbage and was over hyped as hell.

  4. I glad that Uncharted 4 didn’t get GOTY, but I don’t think it should have received Best Narrative either. As a long time fan of the series, UC4 was pretty disappointing. While the new stealth was pretty good, the hand to hand combat and overall shooting was way worse than UC3 and UC2 respectively. Destructable cover didn’t make the game more fun either.

Neil Druckmann also attempted a story that was too dark for the series’ usually light-hearted tone and it killed the enjoyment for me. The ending didn’t match the overall drabness of the story. It tried to be The Last of Us without really needing to be. It also weakened Nate’s character. I thought Sam was kinda insufferable from the beginning and it didn’t get any better. Sam also wasn’t that great in comparison to Chloe, Elena, or Sully either and you had to spend most of the game with him. If only Amy Hennig hadn’t left…

I know this is a Nintendo site but I thought I’d post my thoughts on this overhyped game that everyone seemingly has only showers joy upon.

    1. Oh and I also forgot the mention the complete lack of set pieces. They showed the best one off at E3 and the only somewhat good one was the car over the side of the cliff one. This ties in with Druckmann trying to tell a more moody story and throwing away some of the fun previous games had.

This game rivals UC1 in the amount of climbing there too……… ugh

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bad game- but it’s not a 90+ one either. I would personally rate it around an 80.

  5. And The Witcher 3 won another one! lol I took advantage of the nice discounts for Witcher 3’s complete edition & Life is Strange last night. *shrug* I couldn’t pass them up! Now to take my physical copies to GameStop whenever I get the chance & sell them for quick, easy cash.
