Major games developer and publisher Capcom has confirmed today in a press release that it is looking to revive some its franchises that have long since been forgotten. The company has a number of established IPs under its belt including Dino Crisis and Mega Man to name but a few. Here’s what they had to say:
In addition to regular major title releases each fiscal year, Capcom is currently focused on reviving series that have not had new entries recently, or otherwise dormant IP. Beginning with MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE, a return for the series following a five-year hiatus, Capcom looks to enhance its corporate value even further by utilizing its library of rich contents.
Hopefully that means that they will also make games for those franchises.I was so heartbroken when I saw X, and just later realized it wasnt a new Megaman X game.But ill content with MvC 4!

Mega Man 10 (or was it 9) for the Wii was an excellent reboot! And Azure Striker Gunvolt was fantastic!
I think it might be too late. There are many great Megaman type games now.
Still, if they try, I hope it’s more successful than Sega’s Sonic has been!

MegaMan is the only game I would like to see from them. I don’t really know of any more from Capcom that I like from the old days
Okami and Viewtiful Joe are great and neglected series as well. I’ve heard good things about Breath of Fire, but have never played it.
Oh yea true I remember viewtiful Joe and okami great games lol breath of fire to me wasn’t really anything special I played it a little and it seemed kind of generic to me I never really gave it a chance tho so maybe it’s not. But yea I guess there are some worth bringing back lol
Yeah, honestly, I just want another VJ, Okami, and legitimate Mega Man game. I don’t much care for fighters and I’m new to JRPGs. Sega, on the other hand, has a ton of great IPs that I want back :(
BoF is a fantastic series that peaked at 4. They were down to the nail true RPGS. I still love them. If you own a wii u, or N3ds, you should consider picking up BoF 1, 2 or 3. 4 is a PS exclusive and as far as i know, its still not on the psn store. Thats the one i would recommend on playing though, but oh well.
Thanks, that’s good to know. I’m a collector so I own all the consoles they’re out for. I think I’ll start with 1 on the eShop, though, to see if I like it. Or which one do you think is a) the best, or b) the best starting point for a newcomer?
If you can handle older games then definetly go for BoF1, and follow it with BoF2, since that one is a sequel. BoF3 would be a better starting point for a starter in my opinion, that one is a solo entry. But the best one in my opinion is 4. Ignore everything after it unles you really REALLY loved the prior games.

They put Megaman X in the game as one of the first character reveals, it might imply a new Megaman X game. It’s all about the implication.
I hope but I better keep expectations low because they once see said “expect an unexpected anounce soon” and it wasn’t Megaman.

-POWER STONE RERELEASE ON A NINTENDO CONSOLE! Not just Dreamcast, not just PSP, but a current Ninntendo system. Since its debut during the sixth gen, Capcom has neglected the Gamecube, the Wii, and the Wii U of this game’s release.
Red Earth was such a cool game, definitely deserves a sequel, or at the very least a console release of the original since it was only ever an arcade game.
