The Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 is exactly two weeks away from today, December 29. New details about the upcoming console will be released on Thursday, January 12. The presentation will include the launch date and pricing for Nintendo Switch, as well as a look at the lineup of games currently in development. You’ll be able to watch it live from Tokyo at 8 p.m. PT via the Nintendo website.

I’m sure iceazema is still here. He’s just more of a lurker these days. I really should do the same for a couple of months so I can whittle down my backlog of PS4 & 3DS games.
I’ve been doing pretty good at my backlog. I beat a few great games the last half of the year. It’s the RUGs (Auto-correct for RPG) that are killin me. I MUST finish Xenoblade X, but DOOM is just soooo fucking fun… I can’t stop playing it. I also have two Etrain Odyssey games, both of which will need 40 – 80 hours to beat. I’m plowing through the Gears of War games, and crossing my fingers for the new Resident Evil… good time to be a multi-console gamer.
I haven’t paid over $25 bucks for any of my Xbox1 games. I even got DOOM for $20 on black Friday. IDK. I keep telling Nintendo gamers, from one Nintendo fan to another… Nintendo doesn’t take care of its own anymore, so buy a second gaming box and start gaming again like its the N64 days!! Plus the DVR feature is great.
I love my 3DS, and will pick up a Switch when I can get a great bundle or special edition from a retailer, but I don’t think they are merging their handheld devs like we thought originally, so I’m waiting to see what’s what after the dust settles and Nintendo milks it’s poor fanbase for Early adoption premiums. I am excited to see what games will come out for switch though. Sadly my favorites won’t. (mass effect, Scale bound, and the few I play now.)

Damn RPGs! I spent a good majority of 2016 playing Witcher 3 & Final Fantasy X & X-2. I wrapped up my playthrough of X-2 when I realized I wasn’t gonna get 100% completion on my first playthrough, deciding to play the game again later once I’ve cleared my backlog of games that aren’t RPGs & that I won’t spend months on end on. This sadly means I’m putting my digital copy of FFXV on hold til further notice. Otherwise, I might spend 3-6 months on another game while the rest of my backlog remains on an inactive back burner. Of course, it doesn’t help I started playing Saints Row: Gat out of Hell which has a shit load of RPG elements tied to it so I won’t be surprised if I’m on it for at least 2-3 months! @.@ But I already started on the game so I’m gonna finish it before moving on. Thankfully, the RPG element of leveling up seems to be going by pretty fast so I might not be on it as long as I fear. But I do like to dick around in video games so I might be on it awhile.
I hope there are a lot of new things in this Switch presentation. So far I have liked what I seen.

Sadly, he’s not- a car accident claimed him earlier in the month. He was more hyped for the Switch than I was, thinking “hey, THIS will get me back onto Nintendo systems!” I largely credit him with properly introducing me to Metroid, starting my amiibo collection, and generally being part of who I am today.
I will now get one- day 1 if possible- to honor that wish for him.
My condolences. That Is so tragic. I hope he is in a better place and that Nintendo doesn’t let him, you or any of us down

Thank you, bud. But I won’t stop there. I’ve already taken to wearing a FNAF dog tag (one of the things he bought on our last mall trip together- he was a big fan) every day, and will still go see the movie’s midnight showing like he wanted to. Among other things. His memory will live vicariously through me.
A bit of respect from me if you are doing it for a friend. I couldn’t do that myself since I’m stingy with my money a majority of the time while at the same time trying to be conservative with it. Instead, my son’s middle name was a childhood friend’s first name. I wanted it to be his first name, too, but the wife preferred another name as his first so we compromised. Shame as his initials would have been R.E.M. if we’d gone with his middle as his first name. I could have nicknamed him Rem after the white shinigami from Death Note. I know Rem was female but it sounds like a unisex name to me so yeah. Oh well. lol

Yes, Lucas and Claus as in Mother 3 XD that game left a massive impact on me when I first played it.

I’m nervous because I haven’t even saved anything for this. I’ll probably buy it on one check/cheque, and suffer the rest of the month when it’s released.
I’m still remaining cautious about this whole thing as I’ve been burned too many times in the past to blindly jump on “DA HYYYYPE TRAIN BOIZ!!!”, and in the end not even get a new metroid game or anything like that.
If breath of the wild has enough depth to it that I can look past the horrifically low four dungeons then I might just buy a switch for that game alone. Few people like playing an inferior version of a game by choice so if it REALLY interests me I’ll get the switch.
HOWEVER, in order to increase their chances of making consumers like me care about them, stuff like a exploration-collection-based mario game like sunshine or whatever is pretty crucial. And I’d buy the switch day one if they released a metroid game or a fire emblem game on it. Traditional titles only though…non of that spin off crap!
I’m not getting on the hype train yet and I recommend that everyone, unless they get excited over a handful of the same games over and over again (zelda, mario, etc…) that are pretty much guaranteed to come out every console generation, just calm down until we know more about this thing.

Kia has a Kia Gt to unveil. Hopefully it will give me chills. And after that comes the Switch while I wait to see if this console gives Grunty thrills.
While rumours so far are just the specs big deal. Im waiting to see wgat Pikmin 4 will be like, now I need another pill while I wait for these thrills . Until then Klungo hurry up with that grille.

I rather not set my expectations too high, and then end up feeling underwhelmed.
Better to go in with low expectations so you might be more likely to be surprised.

I’m getting BiTE (the auto-correct version of BoTW) on WiiU. Switch can wait a year for me. I have a 3DS that I love, and no need to be an early adopter, so my hard earned money can pay for people’s awesome bundles and cheaper games a year from now.
