GameStop will apparently begin accepting pre-orders on Friday, January 13. The Developers for that game stated yesterday that they won’t be launching that game for the Switch unless there is a high demand for it. That was one of the.games I wanted to try out. Not all people have a next gen console. I can’t be alone on this… But they followed what Bethesda did a few months ago. Nintendo has always had great 3rd party games for their handhelds. So, I plan on ordering my swich off of GameStop, best buy, or worst case scenario amazon. Does anyone know if a fee is required for in stores pickups?
Not normally at GameStops. I’ve never paid to pick up a game or system.
I dont think any store should ask for a pickup fee. That seems ridiculous.
They do however ask for a deposit. I belive gamestop asked me for $50 on both my 3ds and Vita, which they said, it was required so they could hold the console for me. But that money counts towards the purchase.

Well thats the thing. If the console is $300, and you leave $50 as a deposit, then you only have to pay $250 (plus the tax on the whole $300) so depending were you live, you might pay $320 to $330 for the console.
I dont see why you would ask for the money back if youre going to be using it to pay for the console.
Now if your asking, if can you get the money back BEFORE the console releases. Then yes, you can, but you will also be losing that preorder.

the price point would probably be $200 or under judging all the console nintendo has released except the wii u but they knew that was a mistake so great to hear preorder hopefully if they sell out they can restock in february or the week or two after the event .

I wish I could preorder with no money down. I’m SO low on money at the moment. But I’m afraid that if I don’t preorder, it’ll be another Wii/NES Mini situation. When the Wii released, I didn’t preorder. And I had to wait an extra week before Best Buy got more in stock. And even then, I would have missed out if I wasn’t one of the first in line that day.
Back when the Nintendo 64 came out, I got it a week before it’s official release date (without preordering). For some reason, the former Kaybee Toys got them early, and sold one to me. What a wonderful moment that was. I was the first person to buy one. They were still unpacking them when I arrived.

I’ll be preordering my Switch from Amazon… If I even get one. That way, I don’t have to hunt for one & they’ll eventually send me one when they finally have one available if they run out before they get to sending me one. And thanks to the free 2-day shipping, it’ll be just like buying it from a Gamestop… Minus the gas money needed to get to GameStop or Wal-Mart.
