There were a number of high-profile games released last year and also some unfortunate delays, but overall it was a good year for multi-platform gamers. The team over at IGN have spent hours deliberating what their favourite games of 2016 were. There’s some solid entries in the list which you can view below and Pokémon fans will spot Pokémon Sun & Moon at number eight.

My favorite game of 2016 was a tie between FE Fates and Overwatch. I still play both games pretty regularly.
Resident Evil 7 will be my first new game of this year, so I hope it’s as good as it looks. I thoroughly enjoyed the demo.
I enjoyed the demo, too. Still wish the game was in 3rd person, though.
Call me crazy but Pocket Card Jockey was my top game of 2016. It’s the one I keep going back to play.
I see Final Fantasy XV is not in this list. What’s your malfunction, IGN!?
No Doom or ffXV there. Well ok. I have no rights to complain since I just played two games on this list, Pokemon and Stardew valley, and I don’t know if the oder games were good or not. But I want to try overwatch though.
Final Fantasy won’t make it because Mr. Otero champion of feminism won’t allow it.
What? Feminism? I dont see a problem in ffxv. Well, I don’t like feminism movement though.
Overwatch couldn’t hold my attention past 60 hours. It’s so odd to keep seeing it on GOTY lists.
Had to be the fucking casuals and social justice pushers at IGN promoting Cancerwatch.
Inside was just Indie self indulgence, hardly a game with a slightly interesting “what is really going on here” feel.
