No More Heroes‘ director Goichi Suda, also known as Suda51, has expressed significant interest in Nintendo Switch. In a recent interview, Suda revealed that he wants to create a “distinctive” game for the upcoming console – one that will provide a memorable experience and leave a mark on everyone who plays it.
“I want one,” he said. “Nintendo always makes really cool, interesting hardware that gives us new things to do. On the Wii, not to brag, but I feel that I made a game that used that Wii technology in one of the best ways. I want to find a cool new way to play using what Switch offers.”
Didn’t he say he wanted to make a game for wiiu too when it launched?
Okay he really did make use of the Wii U when I got a phone called on my wii controller playing No More Heroes I thought that was SO cool!
So what? If the WiiU turned out to be a bad place to sell your stuff, it doesn’t matter what you want. These guys need to live from something. So sure, if the Switch would turn out to be a failure, he might reconsider developing for it as well. But I got a feeling that this might not happen, so hopefully he won’t have an excuse this time.
So now that there is no real gimmick that “has to be taken advantage of”, now it is about “distinctive”?
I guess that’s one way of saying “no, we will not be supporting”.
But here’s for hoping Nintendo will pick up Scalebound, and hopefully make it little more interesting.
I’m pretty upset about scale bound that’s literally the only game I was looking forward to for my xbone and now there’s nothing that interests me that’s coming in the future.
I was not that in to it, even though I love PG, somehow it did not grasp my interest.
Thankfully Nier is coming to PC. It was literally the only game that was going to get me on PS4.
Me too, was going to get PS4 for Nier, got Xbone for Scalebound, right after Wonderful101 and Bayonetta 2 I had to get their next games. Sad about the Xbox, Kamiya himself was upset about the way they showed his game. I’m sure if he had more time and was allowed to show it when he wanted to people would have supported his vision more. I blame phil, bastard.
Kamiya is great developer, and I hope PG can deepen their relationship with Nintendo now.
Their collaboration with Bayonetta was very good.
Though Starfox flopped, but that was pretty much on Nintendo.
suda soz but your games are shite
killer 7 was pretty cool. No More Heroes wasn’t bad as well despite some frustrating bossfight.
Killer is Dead is a good one also.
I myself enjoyed Lolipop Chainsaw. It was stupidly hilarious.
was it by this guy? Never got the chance to play that
Theres a chance i might be wrong. But from what I remember, yea, its a Suda game. HackNslash greatness lol
*looks it up* Yeah, you’re right. Suda51 made Lollipop Chainsaw, collaborating with the filmmaker James Gunn. Speaking of Gunn, I can’t wait for Guardians of the Galaxy 2! :D
I wish they’d do a PS4 port of that game. I probably could play it using PS Now but I’d like to have access to the DLC & getting a PS3 is out of the question.
Unlike the rest of the negative nancies here: I say good. His games are good most of the time, and it’s great he is interested in coming back to Nintendo after they failed to sell the Wii U. And if you don’t know what the word distinctive means, I can’t help you. It simply means something unlike the norm, which is good, as it’s precisely those type of games I buy Nintendo hardware for.
Killer 7 part 2!!!
That game was so damn fun and challenging.
Loved No More heroes 1 and 2 (except for the last boss in 2). Killer 7 was amazing and needs a sequel after that ending.
