Video: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Announced For Nintendo Switch With A New Trailer

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: With Nintendo Switch, fans can enjoy the definitive version of Mario Kart 8 anywhere, anytime, even with up to eight friends in local wireless multiplayer. All your favorite tracks and characters return from the Wii U version, plus all DLC tracks and characters, and new characters join the roster, too: Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy from Splatoon, as well as King Boo, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr.! Plus, Battle mode has been revamped and includes Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast, with new courses such as Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium, and returning ones like GCN Luigi’s Mansion and SNES Battle Course 1. Players can now carry two items at a time, including new items returning from previous Mario Kart games such as Boo (the item-stealing ghost) and the Feather, which gives players a high jump in Battle mode. Players can even choose to use a new Smart Steering feature, which makes driving and staying on the track easy for novice players and kids, even at 200cc. Play in TV mode in up to 1080p. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe launches in April.

Yours & mine both! Sony & Nintendo might as well just take my check every month! *dark laugh* But seriously, though, I need to clear up my backlog on the damn PS4 before Summer or I’m gonna be so fucking buried in incomplete games!

  1. guessing by everything the switch version is the whole package what you purchase and the wii u you have to purchase the dlc characters and stuff

    1. Because it sold like crap on the Wii U, like everything, even though they probably put more work into the Wii U versions of the games than any games before them. So instead of building up an entirely new game, they try to sell the same game again for people who haven’t played it yet.

      1. MK8 did not sell like crap, what chu smoking bruh?

Yes we can say the wii u’s install base was butt cheeks…but take into account even with the small install base it sold the most out of any wii u game to date……ninty definitely profited off the game. It’s being package simply because alot of people didn’t get a chance to play it cause of the wii u’s low install base….so this give people the chance to buy the game on the switch if they never played or looked into it on the wii u.

I don’t think you have to worry. I’m sure it’ll will get an exclusive Mario Kart down the road. Unless they just release new DLC every year for the game during the Switch’s life with new content to keep the game going for years.

    1. Yeah, it’s probably more aimed at people who didn’t play it on the Wii U. I very much doubt it will happen, but I hope there’ll be some kind of deal where you can prove ownership of Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U and then be able to download Deluxe at a fraction of the price.

  2. Seeing that Animal Crossing track made me realize just how sad I am that a new Animal Crossing wasn’t announced for the Switch. In fact, they didn’t show any of the games I hoped they would show. Such as Pikmin 4. Most of what they DID show was totally boring to me.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Did they just say 8 player multiplayer LOCALLY!?! Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit! I don’t have that many friends that live locally but holy fucking shit that’s awesome for those that do!
